Stupid. Stupid to mess up your career over some sticky icky. Stupid to suspend people over a drug that isn't performance enhancing.

Yeah it's a shame people are still getting fucked over for smoking some weed.

It's ridiculous, there isn't anything further from performance enhancing lol. If I smoke the stuff I don't want to do anything strenuous for days, I commend anyone who can seriously train while indulging, they should be rewarded!

Floyd Mayweather continues to revolutionize the sport by setting strict standards for his own fighters as well as their opponents. This should be applauded.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but you caused me to rethink my stance. I in no way consider weed performance enhancing but like Ellerbe stated there are expectations of acting as professionals.

To hurt their own card and set back their own fighters who were cleared by the commission is a strong stance. It could just be looked at as a cheap opportunity to set an example but a statement is made.

I don't disagree with Rocco there either. Pot being a banned substance in sports is totally asinine to me, but so long as athletes know that it's banned, boo hoo. Frankly it's a pretty stupid thing to be doing during a training camp as well, Floyd might have an issue with it personally. Lots of people are drug tested for work, whether having a toke on your own time will affect the job you do or not, rules are rules.

I smoked pot once-ish In all seriousness...they should be suspended. Its not about enhancing performance, if it does (ever sprinkle a lil something special in a fatty anyone?)..its about being a disrespectful fool. Bigger than the "family" and making headlines for all the wrong reason in a post fight pisser. Floyd runs his stuff like a syndicate! The more headlines YOU make...the less HE makes

Also...have any of you been so stoned out of your mind that you got into a fight and compromised what you could actually do, enhanced the other guy, tried to laugh and high five only to get pulverized out of no where ? I knew a guy once. The ring or the gym is the last place you should be smoked out. How many of us can go into work baked Also...its a CYA move after Love was caught for juicing.

I'm completely serious. I think Mayweather is a pioneer within the sport. He's taking the power from greedy promoters and putting it in the hands of fighters and he's fighting steroid and cheating corruption. People just don't see it because they are jealous of him and hate him.

I agree with you, but you could have left that last sentence out.
I don't think it's jealousy or hate as much as mistrust or doubt about his true feelings. To be honest, my first reaction was. Hmm...so Floyd is saying he never lights up, never smokes a joint, never takes a puff, not even a little, teeny weeny hit.
I think Floyd is making a statement about the right time and the right place, and that it won't be allowed at the wrong time or the wrong place.
I don't know Floyd, at all, so maybe he never has.

Suspends them means they will be back, it is not as if he has sent them to Top Rank. It sends out a positive and strong message that they need to take the sport seriously.

It's not about Policy Enforcement. If they wanted to make a real statement, the'd would drop them as a fighters. It's really about getting Attention and usually a premise for something else. The same ploy as Floyd's persona. Politicians do this all the time to grab the spotlight. Just as Mc Donalds has already proven that advertisement sells except advertisement is a direct approach.

It is a bad and illegal habit that should not be encouraged for young athletes.
