    Default Daddy knows best..

Floyd sr did not want floyd to fight the way he fought last saturday but floyd did it anyway.

This is a big IF..but IF floyd did choose to exchange with maidana to make the fight more interesting in the hope for a rematch then that was a great business move!

I know hes getting older and he wont get any better but im looking forward to the rematch as that will show for certain how much floyd has left in the tank.

Only floyd and big floyd know exactly where he is at after that performance..well done for maidana for the constant pressure and putting a big question mark in everyones mind.

Imp, I know your a huge mayweather fan. I am too as him and cotto are my favorite fighters. How did you have the fight scored?
But ya I do hope they rematch cuz this fight was a very questionable decision I think.

Your ability to score a fight is questionable.

The Cotto fight was closer than this one.

I never scored the fight. That's why I've stated in my comments that it looked like he won but I'm going to rewatch it and score the fight on Saturday. But by the way it looks a lot of people thought maidana won so I couldn't be that bad and I'll have my actual score on Saturday.

    I had it 7-5 floyd.
It just didnt look like an 8-4 fight to me and the cut had floyd flustered.

Floyd was missing quite alot and performed badly in the last round which was lazy imo.

I like maidana and want a rematch because I still feel khan needs to beat a thurman or other tough welter to get the fight next may..

I don't see the fight decision as being questionable at all. It seems like 90-95% feel Floyd won so I don't really think that even qualifies as controversial.

I had it 7-5 as well, so we're talking a very close fight in terms of scoring, but I don't see how anyone could have given Maidana 7 rounds.

"It still was a good performance, probably wasn't one of his best, but it was a good performance. Floyd showed one thing, Floyd showed that he can fight the guy's fight, if the guy don't think he can. Because Floyd fought Maidana's fight tonight. Floyd didn't fight his fight. But, next time around, you'll see."

On a rematch: "I think it's very important that it happens. If that's what they want, my son says, if that's what they want, that's what they're gonna get. ... If Floyd wants a rematch, or if (Maidana) wants a rematch, I think they should do it."

On Floyd's future: "I tell you this, if you wanna be honest with me, sometimes we don't know ourselves. Sometimes we don't know ourselves. We get to an age and we don't realize it. After seeing the fight today, Floyd showed that he was a strong individual, but I don't like him getting hit."
Then change sports. The guy has barely had a glove on him in 10 years and the minute he gets touched Daddy fills the room with doom and gloom. The great Locche was stopped and lost 4 times, Pep got stopped, Robinson, Burley etc etc.

Besides, the rematch will probably break 2 million buys.

An excellent post, not slanted one way or the other, good to hear.

Floyd fought a lot like he did when he first moved to WW.

Lots of fighting off the ropes.

Floyd won the fight but it was not easy and he should have finished strong in the last round.

Maidana deserves another good payday and perhaps he might pierce that scar tissue on floyd eye if he can get past the defense.

Floyd sr will know in his heart when to tell floyd jnr to call it a day..we are all so used to seeing a flawless display it was different to see floyd under some real pressure and tbh the options for september can only really be maidana rematch (money wise) as khan is not available.
