    Default Saurland Sign Groves

    Sauerland sign George Groves

"‘’I am extremely pleased to have signed with Team Sauerland,’’ said Groves. ‘’I have boxed on their shows in the past and have known Kalle and Nisse (Sauerland) for years. The shows they put on in Europe are phenomenal. This is definitely a step in the right direction for me as I look to build my name not only across Europe but all around the world. I feel that now I have the right team in place to help me achieve everything I need to in boxing.’’

I thought hed sign for one of the US promoters but this may be a smart move for him. I mean if he loses to Froch, signing for Sauerland opens up a title shot with Abraham. Also if he decideds to move up he has an easier world title shot against Braehmer.

One thing is certain, George Groves cannot stand Eddie Hearn and thinks he is a con man. ha ha. I thought he might have gone with GBP, but Sauerland seem to be able to do deals with Matchroom and promoters in the States , so I suppose it's the best of both Worlds , not a bad move. Depends what his motive is ...World titles or Cash? If he signed with Hearn , These Brit fighters seem to make pot loads of dough without really doing anything at world level. It's refreshing that it's not just about that.

Groves is a very clever fella, opens lots of new doors and still keeps the old ones ajar.

He's not expecting to beat Froch then. If he isn't signed with Matchroom he isn't getting on Sky PPV and if he beats Froch he'd be able to coin it on Sky PPV with a Froch rematch, De Gale, Kessler etc.

it seems funny timing to me too to announce it, he could have done it after the fight, least keep eddie guessing

lets be honest, his chances of winning against froch would be much better if he was a matchroom fighter or at least the potential to be one

You do not have to be a matchroom fighter to be on ppv, Haye and Khan are not.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
