Default Kovalev auction items for Magomed.

Kovalev is auctioning autographed items from his Caparello fight. The money from the sales will go to Magomed Abdusalamov, who suffered a brain injury last year.

Kovalev is a good fighter and a credit to the sport.

I'm proud to be a fan of him.

Good for him, and best wishes to poor Magomed.

Kovalev seems to be a great person as well as a great puncher.
Hoping for a miraculous recovery or a steady improvement!

Wish there was a set of guide lines to automatically stop a fight.
Something like 6 or 7 unanswered punches in two successive rounds.

    Have any ideas?

Yeah but I don't think Perez landed very many unanswered punches, I remember Magomed constantly walking forward and throwing.

It's such an unprecise thing that the best we can do is leave it up to the re and corner men's discretion. You can have a guy like Gatti have dozens of bloody wars and not have any problems, and then Magomed takes a bunch of lead left hands, seems fine the whole fight, then tragedy strikes afterwards.

Some people fall out of airplanes and survive, and some people slip on a curb, hit their heads and die. It's such a crazy thing.

Kovalev is a very under rated boxer who had huge power. I think he is the best light heavy out there.

This. I remember a couple of times thinking maybe Mago's corner should stop it, but then he would get some punches off and keep coming forward. He never looked like he was on the verge of getting really hurt, or in more trouble than guys do come back to win from on a regular basis in boxing, it's a tough thing.

Hell since the thread is about Kovalev, the fighter that died after facing him a few years back just seemed like a routine stoppage loss until the ref waved it off, and I don't think that poor guy even made it to the hospital

    Classy move

Sergey seems like a nice likeable guy...except to those who piss him off

Great to see, good man.The sport is at its best when brothers look out for one another, because we know sure as shit the networks, promoters and many officials see nothing but moving pieces like a factory line. I sincerely hope Mago finds some semblance in quality life and family experiences.

Sergey has an undeniable mean streak in him, but shows he has a heart as well.

I think that you need that mean streak in order to be like him though. That probably allows him to be as dominant as he is. I'm sure that he can just separate his work and personal life though. When it comes to boxing, he needs to have anger. When he isn't fighting, he is probably a nice guy.

Kovalev is scary when he gets angry. Look at the fights against Sillakh and Caparello.

I agree 100%. Mike Tyson and a bunch of others said the same thing.
