    Default Omgwtf

    Good morning,

I'm just replying in relation to some of your recent posts.
In a quick review of the board I have seen you question the validity of Grey's posts and try to contradict scrap's generous responses to your inquiries.
You then questioned what a bolo punch was and expected an answer.

I suppose my reaction is two-fold.
Initially, if you have already decided that you know the answer, then please don't ask the question. When experienced professionals take the time to respond to your questions, it is cringeworthy to see a self confessed beginner try to contradict same.
I scan these boards almost exclusively for explanations by these two. I appreciate their generosity and I truly believe as you accumulate experience you will too.

Secondly, I would like to wish you luck.
You obviously have passion and that is required. I first began to frequent this forum at 15 and posted enthusiastically until I came to understand that boxing is not about youthful exuberance and always being on the front foot.
It is about control and patience - waiting until your strategy affords you the opportunity to attack.

To put this in physical terms see what happens when a novice spars a more seasoned boxer. The experienced guy will sit back and analyse. He could simply attack and damage the more youthful, inexperienced opponent, but that's not the sport. True mastery is deducing the opponents strategy, inhibiting his intentions with your own and then utilising his own exertions against him.

Adopt this as a strstegy for life, for boxing and for training - Pause, understand and act.

    Lol

    LMAO!

Scrap made a glaring error then acted all superior about it and I merely corrected him.

Scrap has good knowledge levels and is very generous I do not dispute that.

Thanks for the well wishes I appreciate that!

I do not appreciate the judgements as if you are my superior.

    Good day to you sir.

Every forum has guys like OMGWTF, you shut him up, there will appear another one.
There are forum guidelines, I think he does not really violate them.

I believe, forum needs unique individuals, so keep on doing what you are doing, OMGWTF

    Good day to you sir.
    Scrap has great knowledge levels.
He did not make an error.
You must realise that training is an exercise in futility.
We will never be perfect, but to paraphrase George St. Pierre, we must strive to get as close to perfect as possible.

    I understood Scraps point.
I believe the subject in question was Tyson. Tyson was not technically perfect. He could knock guys out but that is easy. His technique wasn't perfect, but in fights technique very seldom is. However, the guy who can illustrate the better technique under pressure will most often win the fight.

Superiority is a theme you touched on twice in your post.
Neither I nor Scrap expressed any sentiment of superiority.
But I am sure of my seniority.
I am not a beginner. Some might say I'm very experienced.
And yet, I am still humbled by the knowledge of Grey, Scrap, Chris Nagel, Thomas Tabin and others.

Be happy and humble my friend.
In this sport its better to be humble than humbled.

    He's got spirit.
Everyone in this sport has something to prove, that's why we arrive at the gym in the first place.
Respect is what this sport is founded upon - it's a give/take relationship.

You didn't correct him. You just didn't understand what he was saying, found an example that appeared to you to disprove his point (it didn't) and ignored his explanation of why.
