    Default US snow storms

Are you guys OK over there in the US over there? We are use to snow but are you?

Parts of the US north-east are braced for further snow storms, with officials warning residents to be prepared for 3ft (1m) of new snow.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo called it a "historic event", while a local official dubbed the storm "gigantic".

Some places, including the city of Buffalo, are already underneath 5ft of snow, and eight people have died in New York state.

Exactly, should just be renamed global extremity.
Same cause though; Humans we are the imbalance to nature as she now tries to purge us.
Deforestation moves climate borders around and into extremes.

Places like buffalo are well prepared for storms but mother nature can out do us from time to time. The US as you know is vast. It's when areas like the South get a big snowstorm they are screwed as they are not well prepared as they don't see much of it. I'm in New England and last year was particularly brutal. I can look out my door in the morning to see three feet and I'll just say shit and go about my day. People in Maine and Alaska are even more intense. It seems every household has at least one snowmobile and they build bars and restaurants made especially for them. So yes, I have experienced eight feet in a twenty hour period and that did shut us down for a bit but one to four feet is standard lately. Damn you global warming. I need to edit, two or three years ago we got around twelve to fifteen feet in one pop. It took about two days for things to get back to normal. I couldn't get my driveway plowed as my plow guy couldn't find anyone to plow him out. People had to hire front loaders to clear out their driveway. Master, aren't you in England? What kind of snow do you see.

We use to have heavy snow when I was a child but I figured it was high because I was small.

When they've cancelled the New York Jets - Buffalo Bills NFL game scheduled for Sunday in Buffalo..... and moved it to Detroit on Monday night...... you KNOW it's gotta be bad. These guys have played in absolute whiteout conditions.

I heard on the news this morning that it is going to be 60F today in Buffalo. That will melt that 7 feet of snow probably a bit faster than the waterways can handle.
In a related story, I am getting good at shoveling snow. I'm pretty freaking bored at the moment so I went out to shovel my sidewalk, and the neighbor's, too, while I was at it. Only took me three or four minutes. Of course, we've had less than an inch of snow since I shoveled it yesterday (4 inches and I cried and whined then) but I'm still feeling good about my effort.

There’s growing evidence that global warming is driving crazy winters

There’s growing evidence that global warming is driving crazy winters - The Washington Post

Heat goes on: Earth headed for warmest year on record

The planet notched its warmest October ever, continuing on its track for the warmest year on record as global warming continues unabated, scientists announced Thursday.
Fueled by unusually torrid oceans, the global temperature year-to-date is 1.22 degrees above the 20th-century average, NOAA reported.
"This is what we'd expect from increased greenhouse gases," said NOAA climate scientist Deke Arndt, referring to the cause of the planet's unusual warmth. Scientists say the burning of coal, oil and gas traps heat, changing the climate.
2014 is on target to beat 2010 and 1998, the previous warmest years since records began in 1880.

One of the only places globally having a colder-than-average year in 2014 is eastern North America, scientists said. However, the USA represents just 2% of the planet's surface, so what's happening there is far from representative of the entire globe, Arndt said.
Worldwide, five of the last six months have set monthly heat records — July being the only exception. Last month also marked the 38th consecutive October — and the 356th month in a row overall — with a global temperature that was above average. The last below-average global temperature for October was in 1976.
NASA and Japan's weather agency, which monitor global temperatures, also called it the hottest October on record. The trend extended to the USA, as well, which notched its fourth-warmest October, NOAA said.

Of course there is and you know what else there's growing evidence that draconian taxation oN developed nations and an over reliance on "green energy" WILL end Anthropogenic Global Warming once and for all!

It's terrible in England sometimes it actually lays... for about half an hour and can be up to 1 inch deep. You can laugh but not everybody has wellies and wet socks can really make your toes curl, but not in a good way.

Yes and the ONLY way to beat it is via levying huge taxes on the developed world, allowing the undeveloped world to spew out more CO2 unregulated, 100% dependence on inefficient boondoggle green energy in the developed world, and massive wealth transfers from the haves to the have nots, and of course the ritualistic sacrificing of a virgin into a volcano at the equinoxes....that is the ONLY way to appease Gaia Mother Earth so sayeth the Lord High Earth Reverend Al Gore
