    Default Congrats to Canelo

First things first. Canelo won the fight, and my congratulations to him and his team. He fought well enough to win, although I thought the scorecards were excessively wide. Still.... he did a great job, and my hat's off to him. He also spoke very well during and after the fight. He's got a great future ahead of him, provided he keeps his discipline and fights at the weight he's meant to fight.

No regrets from Cotto's effort, though. He fought his heart out, and did the best he possibly could. It turns out I was right. The size, age, and power difference were just too much to overcome. Cotto outboxed Canelo in several rounds, hence my opinion that the judges were, albeit predictably, very unkind to him.

Cotto has nothing to hang his head about. He lost to a bigger, stronger, younger, up-and-coming fighter in what to me was a great fight. If he were to walk away from boxing at this point, he's had a spectacular HOF career and has nothing left to prove. Cotto haters are elated, of course, but hey you can't win them all. I was happy with Cotto's effort, but willing to accept the defeat.

Canelo did a great job are you serious? Yes he clearly won I had it 7-5 for canelo but he looked like shit almost lazy and horrible horrible foot work if he fights like that against GGG he will get brutality stopped and I don't even rate GGG as high as a lot on these forums.

Cotto dictated the pace of the fight, but as you said, the size was too big of a deficit to overcome. Cotto is a good boxer but his he wins fights by breaking down his opponents. He couldn't do that with Canelo.

Lol silly Rabbit.. haters gonna hate but Canelo will keep proving them wrong... GGG will fall its the Canelo era! Tito its nice to see you give the man his due, Cotto impressed me I really though Canelo would get the finish but turns out he was in excellent shape and fought well... Like Max said Canelo would hit him hard and you would expect Cotto to wobble but he never did. Two great fighters and the mutual respect was great to see.

It WAS a good performance from him I thought, definitely he was defensively better than I expected, but I'd give him the same chance against GGG as I did before, absolutely zip. His feet are even slower and far worse, he'd have to stand and trade to do any damage and GGG would eat him up imo. I'd like to see Canelo against either Charlo brother or Demetrius Andrade since he won't move up to 160, those are really tough fights for him.

I've nothing against canelo but how can you say haters gonna hate lol he's not even that good Lara beat him and got robbed a lot of people think trout beat him I actually think canelo won and he got completely dominated by an old past it Floyd mayweather. I think he's a solid fighter but a superstar he will never be he's simply not good enough !

Canelo can't do anything really amazing , he has a great chin which will make for a very painful result against GGG.

Still like to see more of a mean streak or want to ramp up the pressure from Canelo. He appears to get to a point of control and then settles. Not sure what he'll do in weight but more bulk will do him no favors.

That is very magnanimous of you Tito. I hope Cotto could pull this off but it was not to be. I can not think what more Cotto can do in his career.

I think these are the peak years of Canelo.

Canelo isn't even a jack of all trades and definitely is a master of none.

    Canelo will not beat GGG.

Cotto fought well but its a shame he cant go down to 147 as there are more fights he can make money from.
