My friend believes Wlad threw the fight against Fury so he can win the rematch then retire without having to fight Wilder. I think my friend is just mad because I picked Fury to beat his hero. What do you guys think?

Weird you know Tyson Fury mention that as a joke during the post fight press and it was a very odd moment when he said it no one seemed to blink and it was a kind of breathless nature to that one or two seconds after he said that Wladt three the fight so could get the rematch. Who knows it could be something to it if you think about the fact that they're both probably make 30 or 40 million in the.rematch.

That's a lot of money, but I could never believe it unless they stood side by side and confessed to the deed.

He said who really wants to fight Wilder right now. Wlad is done and Fury is a easy target for Wilder big shots. I'm not so sure about that. Wilder has never fought anyone as big as he is. Fury is only 25 and as big as Wilder. Plus how will Wilder react once he gets hit by a big man. My friend is a good guy but is a Wlad nut hugger.

That is too much love for Wlad and just a poor excuse. Wlad would have loved to break Joe Louis record and he has beaten so many great heavyweights by defending the title more than them.

I think your friend is cynical and who can blame him brother but there is no way you can fake what Wlad did or rather didn't do.

In addition Gene has never even mentioned Wlads name, has the biggest padded record in boxing and has fought perhaps 3 people in the top 50.

Finally there are the numbers. Fury did what he did to win but the numbers landed divided by two are and were pathetic. Fury actually beat Wlad more by his unorthodox movement then he did by hitting him. Fury shut him down.


Leon vs Ali. Now there was a fight that was odd from the start. See now that's how you would throw a fight. People always say that the first Rocky was loosely about Wepner or someone else but imo its more based on Spinks/Ali. Now I'm not saying it was but damn Ali came back and became the first to win the title for a third time. Ali then retired. Spinks was actually the last undisputed champion until Iron Mike Strolled in and the only man to lift it from Ali in the ring. Sure Ali missed out on the unification return because Spinks was stripped of a belt for giving Ali the rematch instead of fighting Norton. Kenny then fought Holmes and we all know what happened there. The mid to late 70's heavyweight division was most likely the most corrupt since Mace put down his violin.
