Default I'm back guys and need your help.

I've been commenting on a few boxing pages on facebook and today one of the pages posted a video of the 10th round of Holyfield vs Bowe I. I basically said that IMO that is the greatest round of HW boxing I've ever seen. Anyway someone saId that I was way out and that Willard vs Dempsey Round 1 and Louis vs Schmeling 2 round 1 were far superior. This was my exact reply.....

"No way on this planet was Louis vs Schmeling 2 anywhere near this level of back and forth action. I only remember Schmeling landing one right hand of any real note, the rest was just Louis battering him to the canvas.

Pretty much the same with Willard vs Dempsey, Dempsey had bet his purse on stopping Willard in the first and went all out to stop him. Willard must have thrown 5 very robotic punches in the whole round whilst Dempsey just pummelled away at him. That was not the quality back and forth action we saw in Bowe vs Holyfield 1 round 10. They were maulings that deserve their own place in history but certainly not amongst the greatest rounds of all time.

I have liked your post so you get the notification and see this post not because I agree at all with what you say."

Anyway now he's swearing at me telling me that there is no significance to the Bowe vs Holyfield round 10 blah blah blah (despite it being for the linear and unified HW title), so please guys vote on this for me and if you agree with this guy that's absolutely fine. You're voting for which is the best round of boxing here......

Here is a reminder of the 3 rounds in question...

I couldn't for the life in me remember my password, now looking down the list of threads I realise how much I've missed this place. I especially miss Lyle, bet he was slightly devastated at Wlads last outing??

    Holmes/Norton rd 15

There are several great rounds in this fight. I choose the 1st rd
    Frazier v Quarry 1

    Lyle v Foreman rd 4

    Holyfield v Foreman rd 7

Without a doubt these are also great rounds of boxing, I was just amazed that someone was losing his temper and swearing at me because I thought Bowe vs Holyfield was the greatest round of HW boxing and way above the 2 he mentioned. I only remember the rounds he mentioned being very one sided beatings TBH.

Yeah well no offense to this "someone" but he/she is somewhat a pin head. I'm not sure how anyone could even enter Dempsey/ Willard or Louis/Max as such. Thats like calling Tyson/Seldon special. Tell that someone that you think Dempsey/Firpo rd 1 is better just to play along

Well I've posted the link to this thread on the page we were having the discussion and he's basically started criticising and mocking the knowledge of boxing fans on here and saying that he's forgotten more about boxing than I know. So I invited him to join saddo and have the discussion with us. He's since gone very quiet.

Yeah his/her choices sustain that.........if the question was best 1st round blow outs. Ask him to explain why those are the best rounds in boxing. I look forward to his explanation. Throw in Baer/Carnera rd 1 while you are at it.

Castillo and Corrales 1 in that round that Diego came back and stopped castillo after he had been floored twice. That is definitely one of the greatest rounds I can remember period ....
    Gatti and ward round 9
another great round to look at is Vince Phillips and Kostya tzsyzu in the round that Phillips stopped kostya tzsyuh that was an exciting around as well.
And believe it or not a very scary hi-anxiety round was Ali vs Foreman round 1.

Sounds like a real dummy. Those fights were bigger events and they are notable in history, but there have been rounds of HW action this month that were probably better if you brush that aside.
