    Default Floyd fast fighters.

I've heard people say Floyd hasn't fought many fast fighters. Well, other than Pacquiao and Khan, who could he have fought that was fast?

Mosley was fast as.... Even the old version that Floyd fought was no slouch. Zab Judah was fast back when Floyd fought him too. People criticise Floyd too much for me. He was fucking excellent at what he did. One of the greatest defensive fighters ever and excellent at negating opponents strengths.

Zab beat him to the punch for the first 3 rounds of their bout and took those rounds fairly easy, made Floyd look pretty bad IMO, if only he had the mental strength to keep that up?

Shane and Manny were very fast but not so much when Floyd fought them. Khan would have been interesting, the speed and the work rate might have been a problem for Floyd.

Floyds biggest problem was people with confidence and zero fear (not speed) in my opinion. Castillo, Maidana, Margarito back in the day would have been a nightmare for him.

Yes but also one of the most boring world champions of all time as well.

Which make him average in my book.

I never found him boring. As a lifelong student of boxing I appreciated all the things Floyd did right in the ring and how much practice perfecting that style must have taken. I understand why casual fans find him boring, his fights weren't ever in the mould of Hagler vs Hearns.... That just wasn't his style. But to watch a man make very good opponents miss in the way he did was something special to me. As an old man he completely took apart boxings brightest young star in Canelo, a man who walks around 30lbs heavier than Floyd. He did that by using those skills he must have worked so very hard to perfect.

I love the Gatti vs Ward esque brawls as much as the next man but I also love to watch a master of the theory of the sweet science at work too. That theory is to hit and not be hit, Floyd mastered that!!

Boring really ? He was one of the most exciting boxers to watch when he was in his prime. People forget floyds an old man now out of his prime and has been for some years now

In his youth he was exciting to an extent.

But no Floyd fight would make my list of fav fights to watch.

    Amen.

Beating Canelo was good but being one of the best defensive fighter of all time is the most that can be said about Floyd.

Guerrero was beating Floyd to the punch fairly easily against Floyd.....at least for the first 2 rounds.

Many guys were just as fast but lost the steam in the second half needing to chase him around. Zab lost it because that's what Zab does. Floyd had gears, the guy was a major tool but he had gears. Maidana walked in and out jabbed him and stuffed it in the back of his neck for two or three rounds so speed just a part. Augustus caught Mayweather with some shots that made him look silly.

I always get a hearty laugh about the perspective that being good isn't about how good you are. Thanks for being absurd.

Thanks but being the above is far away from being the best ever.

Id put an exciting fighter with 5 losses ahead of a boring fighter with 0 losses.

    Every time.

The only guys i would say that were in the fast area was Mosley, Pac and Zab. The only one that was still fast when they fought was Pac but Mayweather made him look like he was under water. I mean you can only fight what you can and Floyde was far from boring in 130 and 135.
