Default Hacksaw Ridge - What an AMAZING story of a US Soldier in WW2

Watched this the other night, Amazing what this guy did

The extraordinary true story of conscientious objector Desmond T. Doss who saved 75 men in Okinawa, during the bloodiest battle of WWII, without firing a single shot. Believing that the war was just but killing was nevertheless wrong, he was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon. As an army medic Doss single-handedly evacuated the wounded near enemy lines - braving enemy fire and putting his own life on the line. He was the first conscientious objector to ever win the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Watched this last night, great story. I did think I was watching a Saving Private Ryan Forrest Gump mash up though. Some of the shooting scenes were grizzly as fuck. Why didnt the Japs cut the rope bridge down?

I didnt buy Vince Vaughn as a soldier one bit, especially playing the hard nosed instructor role. Vince Vaughn is best suited to playing a douchebag because Vince Vaughn is a douchebag.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

He was decent in True Detective. This was a good movie and a great story of sticking to your beliefs.

There's plenty of those but to enter a battlefield without a weapon? That's true bravery right there.

It just goes to show that Hollywood will forgive anything as long as there are a few bucks involved.
