Thread: July 4th my favorite

I’m a big revolutionary war buff. I have the week of the fourth off and I’m going balls to the wall. What originally started as having 10 people over for a cookout has now turned to 35-40. I’m renting tents, a massive grill , bought a bunch of fireworks, corn, burgers, hotdogs and various salads etc. A friend from work, who was a serious musician for years is setting up a trio, drums, bass and guitar. I’m having food delivered by a catering place but will cook the burgers and dogs myself. Have a shitload of fireworks and an acre in my backyard to set everything up. This is going to be a bit insane but I figure it is my turn to do it as someone in my group ends up doing one every year. This is much more costly than I thought, I’m already planning on having the cops over as the fireworks will be a big display and these small town cops will take notice. Three years ago when they came they just told me to becareful, stop by 10p (which we didn’t) and the cop ended up watching them for about 10 minutes. My wife is getting out of hand inviting people and as she tells me all the stuff “we” will do to set up it means “me” will have a lot of work to do. Shit, I can’t back out now.

Shit now that I read this I had a panic attack, how do u cook for 35 people. Shit maybe it will rain real heavy and no one will come.

Thanks miles I feel better. I also ordered 25 ribeye stakes. I thought about getting 35 but I doubt everyone will show.

An acre in a "backyard?" What the funk do you call a garden then? A Farm? And you live in a place where the cops come to supervise a party? I always thought those remote American lifestyles were more fiction than reality. Cool.
