Joshua vs Molina: Undercard, preview, fight start time, TV schedule
Anthony Joshua defends his IBF world heavyweight title against Eric Molina this weekend.
The British fighter will go into the bout as a huge favourite and could be excused for already casting his eye towards a blockbuster bout with Wladimir Klitschko.
But taking his experienced American opponent is unlikely to be a wise move.
Molina may have been referred to as little more than cannon fodder in some quarters but Joshua will surely be determined to not only win but win in style as he looks to send out a message to the rest of the division.
Full undercard
Conor Benn vs Josh Thorne
Marcus Morrison vs Harry Matthews
Katie Taylor vs Viviane Obenauf
Luis Ortiz vs David Allen
Hosea Burton vs Frank Buglioni
Scott Quigg vs Jose Cayetano
Callum Smith vs Luke Blackledge
Luis Concepcion vs Kal Yafai
Dillian Whyte vs Dereck Chisora

Have to agree it's what Matchroom hope is a "safe" fight for AJ with Molina only ranked 8th by the IBF.
AJ should have been fighting guys like this 12 months ago but what do you do when the guy just knocks everybody out? I said this ages ago about AJ...... that there was always the worry that he'd end up fighting guys like Wilder, Fury, Klitschko and Haye while he's pretty much still learning and never even been past 7 Rounds in a Pro fight.

Re: Joshua vs Molina: Undercard, preview, fight start time, TV schedule
That is why the fight against Wlad will be a big risk because AJ will be tested for the first time next year. Wlad will try and take the fight to the later rounds and tire out AJ.

Re: Joshua vs Molina: Undercard, preview, fight start time, TV schedule
there's nothing wrong with this fight
AJ has been a total of about 30 rounds and needs experience, Molina is credible

Credible? No "champion" should be fighting him. He is awful.

Yes and it was pathetic. Fighting him now that he is even more shop worn just makes things worse.

Re: Joshua vs Molina: Undercard, preview, fight start time, TV schedule
Yea not much to say for Molina from me, he's not even durable so it should be a blowout. Overall a few fights that could turn out decent though, will watch. Hoping Ortiz looks good this time, though I'm not sure if his fighting AJ is realistically going to be pushed or not.

AJ has specifically chosen Molina so he can fight more rounds which he needs to do desperately before he fights someone with the calibre Wlad. That is why he chose Molina over Price.
