Anybody else nervous about The Manfredo fight??
I know absolutely everything points to a routine win for Joe, but I can't help having these feelings that something is going to happen and fukk up the credit he got in the Lacy fight. At the end of the day Manfredo is a reality TV star, who lost his first fight on The Contender to a Welterweigh who had lost 3 of 13 an only got reinstated when somebody pulled out - but wouldn't it be sods law if Calzaghe was punished for taking such an sh1tty fight :-\
I don't actually think he will lose, I just have an uneasy feeling about the whole thing!

I think Enzo will win the fight, either way I don't see it going past 9 or 10 rounds

i know what your saying mate because if he loses his career is basically over and if he struggles with manfredo a bit he will be shot down in flames he has got nothing to gain from this fight i think its bad choice personally mate

Exactly nothing to gain except dollars - personally I would rather earn less and become a legend :-\

He can't really loose much more credibility. He's allready lost it taking worthless fights following the Lacy fight.
Manfredo might make him some money. But Calzaghe seems dead-set on selfdestruction as far as credibility goes.

Hmm bet you boys would have a change of heart if your living involved getting punched in the mush :D
Nothing in boxing surprsies me anymore. What a terrible end to calzaghe's career that would be.
A cynic might say it serves him right. :-\
Re: Anybody else nervous about The Manfredo fight??
I dont think you chaps have anything to worry about. Peter wont even come close in this fight, although I will say I disagree 10000% that Joe's taking this fight and it does nothing for him one way or another, Kessler is the fight that everyone wants to see and that is the only legitimate fight at 168 for Joe.
From a boxing purist standpoint we know Manfredo is nothing more than a reality TV show and the fan base it drew from was far from hardcore knowledgeable people. Why is Joe going after that market?? is this a PPV bout cause I doubt the casual fan will shell out the dough to watch it, we will but they wont especially when Joe isint exactly watercooler talk here in the US not to mention Peter is considered "C" level at best here in the states. :-\
Joe will tear Peter a new arsehole come fight night and I'm looking forward to the beating he will hand out just cause I dont like Manfredo.

It's just Freddy Roach playing with your mind Big Boy ;)
Calzaghe will Blitz him inside 5 ;)
Hold me to that O0
Re: Anybody else nervous about The Manfredo fight??
can see joe taking him early doors no worries, manfredo not in this class
Re: Anybody else nervous about The Manfredo fight??
Well, to be honest, I'm waiting on the announcement on Monday about whether a deal has been struck for David Haye v Enzo Macc before I get the credit cards out and buy the tickets. Last time I bought tickets there, Joe C pulled out, and I ended up seeing a headline bout of Skelton v Williams 2. What a waste of my time, so I'm gonna be extra cautious this time, and even all FW's hype about how well tickets are selling won't fool me.
Re: Anybody else nervous about The Manfredo fight??
A Middleweight in Segio Mora can outhustle Manfredo with his constant punching he doesn't have the power Joe has on those 100 punches he may throw, Manfredo is gonna get mangled.
