Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
There are some guys who psych their opponents out before the bell rings. Those few moments when the ref is giving his instructions are so crucial. Perhaps thats why Oscar looks at the ceiling rather than at his opponent. But the all time winner of this award is, hands down - LARRy HOLMES.
Although at the K-1 championships, Don Frye and Ken Shamrock had one of the best nose to nose staredowns ever.
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
Sounds silly but Oscars can be very Off-Putting
He obviously doesnt fear you, so you must be thinking "whats up with this guy, whats going through his mind"
Scariest has to be Tyson, the bloke wouldnt even try to be scary he just was... ;D
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown

Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
Marvin Hagler was indeed rather marvelous at the staredown ;)
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
I agree that the Hagler/Hearns stare down was the most intense i ever saw.
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
Hagler-Hearns, good call.
Tarver's "You got any excuses tonight, Roy?" - classic.
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
I remember the story Brian London gave, about being offered a £100 by his promoter (back in 62/63), to confront then World Heavyweight Champion Sonny Liston, who was on a world tour.
London stepped up to Liston in a press conference, and thumped his hands down at the table Liston was sitting at. Liston stood up and stared at London... Brian said he "shit himself" and that it was "almost, not worth the money!" ;)
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
hahaha im sure most people would s*** themselves, the Tyson v Mcneeley fight must have been intimidating for Mcneeley although he just stood there and laughed, biig mistake.
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
