I Hate Flloyd Maywweather....
But to be fair, when so many people say he is dodging people, when you actually take a look who he has fought well...
Corrales
Castillo
Chavez
Mitchell
Judah
Corley
Gatti
And yet heis still, reletavily young in the path he is taking.
Everyone speculates so much about him dodging opponents, but, no doubt his next opponent, is going to be a big name.
To be honest Margarito DOESNT do anything for Flloyd, only for the passionate boxing fans, Flloyds haters, and Margarito fans.
Whereas give it 2 Hatton fights, and thats going to be massive.
All of England and All of America....
Money wise if he takes Oscar, who can blame, the guy.
Take 4-5 Million at most fighting Margarito, or at least 10Mil and thats at the very least fighting one of the biggest names in boxing in Oscar De La Hoya.
Ffloyd is clever, he wants his legacy as much as anyone, but Margarito doesnt go straight to the top. He has to fight the 2nd tiers, Judah, Gatti, Corrales and then when/if he has beat them, then he deserves his chance at Flloyd.
If Castillo is so good as everyone makes him out to be, why didnt Flloyd avoid him.
And I am Flloyds biggest critic, as I dont really like him, but he cant fight everyone at once can he.....
Re: I Hate Flloyd Maywweather....
I'm a huge Floyd fan...HUGE...& personally I think that, as is the case with many other fighters, boxing fans just get a bit to gotdam impatient these days.
Stop & look back at the careers of greats like Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Ali, Frazier, & Foreman to name a few...they weren't fighting the greats every single fight.
In the end...even if Floyd loses...he's done quite enough to be considered one of the greats of our times.
Again...this is just Wacko's opinion. It aint gold.
Good post though B...I agree with some of your points. :coolclick:
Re: I Hate Flloyd Maywweather....
i think his competition is very good, i mean the guys he hasn't fought yet like Cotto, Hatton etc will certainly fight him in the future.
Re: I Hate Flloyd Maywweather....
But neither Cotto or hatton have actually done major things to warrant a place to fight him.
Even Hattons trainer and Hatton said himself, after 2 fights when America knows who he is, thats the time.
Cottos done nothing yet, we all know he is good, but he has got to go there and do it and then he will get his chance.
Its ok having potential but you have to prove you can sell for big fights.
Margarito is behind Cotto and Hatton, way behind, whether people are dodging him or not.
Mayweather has fought most comers, and now he is allowed to choose who he wants when Cotto and Hatton have established themselves at the weight, he can look, see and think, who are these trying to take my corwn, I have to beat them.
Whether he will is a different matter....

Agreed. Very well put. I'm a fan of Cotto's too...but Cotto still needs work before he faces Floyd. He also needs to start thinking like a boxer again before he faces Hatton. All this toe to toe shat is gonna end his reign soon.
Re: I Hate Flloyd Maywweather....
Vargas all over....
he needs to stop being the entertainer, and be the boxer....
He gets more money, mlore titles, and a longer career...
hence Vargas, great potential, hes now done, or his best days are....
Would say Mayorga but he was never skilled.......

Hatton definetly has a warrant to fight him, he's P4P top 5 in the world and just tko'd the best JWW champion for the last 11 years....Kosta Tyszu.
Unless you mean he has to get popular in the states first then i apologise

Agreed.
The minute that replacing Tito bullshat came outta HBO's moufs he switched up his style & tasted canvas for the first time.
Cotto is a superbly underratted boxer...people just don't want to recognize that the kid is worthy of the hype.

Floyd is one of my favorites, I like his personality and dedication. A few more wins and he will be a lock for the BHOF>

You forgot Angel Manfredy, Hernandez, Jesus Chavez... Floyd Mayweather has a very impressive record... considering Chavez was going to beat your boy I can't you didn't include him on the list.
Re: I Hate Flloyd Maywweather....
Re: I Hate Flloyd Maywweather....
I could.
I think there are easier fights out there that would get him the recognition in the divison and shut Brian Kenny up!!
He beats Margarito Hatton and Gatti again or Baldomir, then Brian Kenny can shut up. But at least he could beat Margarito first or Hatton. Because he is risking losing here, and if he does, the mystique of those two fights will leave. Those can still be big fights, but not as big.
Re: I Hate Flloyd Maywweather....
Because he's risking losing? Isn't that what we want from a champion? To take on fights that some people think he won't win? Isn't that why Roy Jones took so much criticism throughout his career? I'm pretty sure Floyd could give a sh!t what Brian Kenny thinks.

Cool click... my thoughts exactly.
I am so confident in Mayweather beating Margarito, Baldomir and Hatton. I think Hatton is awesome, but I don't think his style will do well against Mayweather.
For once, with DLH, I'm not so sure of Mayweather's chances. I would bet my house that he can't knock DLH out or stop him. I think he'd have to back pedal and counter all night to win. I can realisticaly see Mayweather's back on the canvas in this fight... perhaps not for 10, but on his back regardless. Isn't this how we want to see our champions? In a real fight, where they might lose, where they have to dig down deep and show the world that they have much more to offer behind those refined skills and cat like reflexes?
So what if Mayweather does lose... he loses to a 9 time champion in 6 weight divisions. All of the greats have losses on their records. What makes them great is how they take their losses, avenge their losses, and who those losses are to.
Marcianno retires with no professional losses... and so we say he never had a deep enough division.
To me... this fight is win/win. PBF wins, he beats a great in DLH, and can go on to fight the likes of Hatton, Margarito, Cotto etc. to create a wonderful legacy. He loses... he gets paid a lot, he's popped his cherry and won't be scared of losing again against a formidable opponent. DLH solidifies an already solid legacy... and that's just wonderful for boxing.
If this fight happens... I give credit to Mayweather regardless, and I look forward to seeing what he does for the rest of his career.
Unless he just gets totally outclassed and beaten from opening to closing bell... then he just isn't that great, in which case DLH has saved us some time. ;D
