I just looked on Boxing Rec and they have Ike Quartey Vs. Vernon Forrest fighting Aug 5th does anyone know if this fight is actually happening or is boxing rec jumping the gun like they often do. Also if the fight is taking place what do you guys think the outcome will be?

Quartey, I'll tell you what, still has an excellent jab even if he likes the pace slow. Forrest always fought better in boring fights.
Should be a borefest, but this is a crossroads fight so maybe they'll put heart into it.

This fight needs hype, i like both comebacking fighters. Vernon was once in the upper echelons since his back to back wins over Shane but was devastated when Maryorga beat him twice. Quartey likewise was up there but losses to Oscar and rising star Vargas had him thinking if he still belong here. Both can be World Champs again, suddenly WW-JMW seems very exciting. With these comebacking fighters and the young rising stars of the division
I really liked Forrest before he fought Mayorga and dropped off the face of the earth. You really haven't heard much since then. I know he has been injured a few times but thats really all I have heard. I think the winner of this fight will be back in the running with others in the division.
