Should Zab Judah Become a Full Time Sparring Partner?
Being that Judah has been exposed on several occassions as being less than a world class fighter, and with his recent suspension, does anyone else think it would be a great career move on his part to give up fighting and focus strictly on sparring with elite fighters? The top sparring partners for world champions can make 6 figures a year, and without the health risks of brain damage. I think it would benefit Judah greatly to fight with headgear from now on, in addition to the fact that champions tend to not go all out on their partners, so he wouldn't have to be scared of being knocked out anymore. Also, southpaw sparring partners are in high demand since there are so few of them. Some fighters were born to be champions. I think Zab Judah was born to be a sparring partner. And I'm not saying this to be funny, but with hard work, he could be like the Sugar Ray Leonard of sparring partners.

What part of TWO TIME WORLD CHAMPION do you not understand? He is a world class fighter. Name one other guy besides Castillo who performed that well against P4P best Floyd Maywhether? Heck he even dropped the "pretty boy". Yeah hittin em in da nuts and then the back of the head wasn't cool, but a year suspension and 250, 000 in fines is pretty excessive. I just watched Judah vs Ward tonight on ESPN 2 and that was a pretty damn good performance. He looked very good in that fight, better than a sparring partner IMO.

I agree Judah looked good in the Micky Ward fight. Evander Holyfield also looked good in his win against Vaughn Bean. The problem is those fights were eight years ago.

He might actually get better with maturity. He needs a new trailer to teach him the fundementals. He needs better foot work, but he's still good.

He has a good chance to be a belt holder again. He's a world class talent but will be remembered as a could have been. His athleticism will still win him a lot of fights but his full potential will remain unfulfilled.

there was a huge gap between the two fights, and gatti is really not at all what he was when ward beat him

Zab has the ability, but nobody can deny that he doesn't have the brain. When he is asked to make a decision in or out of the ring, it is always the wrong one. He spends his time trying to live up to a gangster image, but has no substance. He daytime job is boxing, and that is what he should spend his time concentrating on. A new trainer??? Does anyone here (including his fans) think that Zab will ever listen to what a trainer tells him. If his trainer tells him 50 more situps and Zab wants to go to a club, I know what I've got my money on ;)

We NEVER agree on Judah...but we do here. Sure he's been exposed and is proven to be venerable to the straight right but he has incredible speed and excellent one punch power at the tender age of 28. Granted it will take a couple fights for him to get back on his feet but when his head is screwed on right he is a force.

Not for nothing but Judah may become another James Toney. And I mean that he may not hit his prime until he's 34. By then he should be fully disciplined, and you never know. Judah's stand in boxing history will be a wild card who you never know what you're going to get. At 100 percent focused he's better then 99 percent. The rest of the time, he is better then maybe 60 percent.

You think brain damage comes from the 12 rounds fought in front of a crowd, and not the hundreds of rounds fought in the gym? Head gear might protect you from cauliflower ear, but your brain is still being jarred. People still get knocked out with head gear on. It really is not as protective as you think.
