HaHaHaHa! Ultimate fighting to soon overshadow Boxing?
Just thought I would toss this in for the sake of fun and curiosity.
last Friday night's ESPN had an interesting show that featured Chuck ladell and some of the Gracie boys and claimed that ultimate fighting will soon be the more dominate sport and that it should be because it incorporates the more diverse and natural fighting methods including boxing.
I kind of see there point but to me it seems that boxing is getting more and more popular all of the time and ultimate fighting is hardly ever on anymore. It also seems that the more dominate ultimate fighters often depend heavily upon their relatively crude boxing skills to win; therefore it seems clear that most boxers would easily clean most ultimate fighter's plows; and thus, would ultimate fighting ultimately regress to the apparently more efficient boxing?
However, I remember reading an article where one of the Gracie boys was repeatedly offering his whole family's savings to fight Tyson in his prime. I also remember an old video of a fight between a giant chinaman and Ali. The chinaman was only allowed to kick but he still put Ali in the hospital. Duran had some competitive battles as well. I know that pro-wrestling is more fake than Hollywood but some of these old videos looked like real battles. I also know some successful amateur boxers who cannot do a thing once they are wrestled to the ground.

I occasionly watch the UFC best of videos if they get uploaded onto a torrent site.
They are quite fun to watch but not in a million years does it even come close to boxing.
In my opinion the fighters in UFC are there because they are not good enough to succeed in one of the more popular sports. Lots of wannabe boxers, NFL players, track and field athletes etc who didn;t make the grade.

The Ali fight was bull shat because the officials would not allow the giant chinaman to do anything so he mostly just sat and kicked the heck out of Ali legs so he would not get knocked out. If I remember right Ali kept jumping up on the ropes to get away from the kicks.
All the corruption in boxing has been very unpopular but live boxing was televised five nights in a row last week.
