Will Hatton REALLY give Collazo a rematch?
Even Collazo said Hatton told him he'd give him a rematch. I'd say it's warranted. But there's way more to lose then to gain by fighting Collazo again. I'm sure Hatton will find some wack excuse (HBO, an easier opponent, money) not to give this guy the rematch he deserves.
Just like Cotto totally avoided the very necessary rematch with Torres.
Re: Will Hatton REALLY give Collazo a rematch?
Nope...I don't think that this rematch will happen. I could be wrong...but he's already talking about getting the winner of the Castillo Corrales rubber match...right?
Re: Will Hatton REALLY give Collazo a rematch?
At what weight does he want Corrales/Castillo winner?
And yeah, I agree. This rematch won't happen.

I would assume he would take the shot at 140.
Not sure though...Castillo is making the jump to 147 after the rubber match.

NIGHTMARE, we talked about this at lunch today (Hi Wacko,LOL). You know Collazo aint seeing no parts of a rematch.

What? Isn't the rubber match taking place at 135? He's going to skip 140 altogether? Is Cotto moving up to 147 immediately to face him?

No Castillo-Cotto will be at 140, then Cotto will move up after

I think if the Hatton fight taught us one thing, it's not to assume anything when jumping weights are involved... To get excited about either Cotto or Castillo moving up to welterweight anytime soon is a bit silly... They each have TWO big fights scheduled, and everything depends entirely on the outcome of those fights, which they could both lose... Err, except one of them would have to win the 2nd, I spose... hehe.
Re: Will Hatton REALLY give Collazo a rematch?
Rematch? Please. No way Hatton gives him one.
Re: Will Hatton REALLY give Collazo a rematch?
Not a chance.
I think Wacko is right about Castillo skipping 140. I'm sure this is Cotto's last fight at lightwelter regardless, so if it Castillo v Cotto then its more than likely at 147lb.
Maybe offering to meet at 140 could factor in favor of Hatton landing the Castillo fight instead of Cotto.

You know I really didn't think about that... Maybe Castillo and Cotto will both jump up to welter when they fight each other. Looks like there won't really be anyone to beat at 140... Hatton may almost have to give Collazo a rematch the more I think about it.. At least if he want's to stay active and establish himself among the other's. What else is he going to do, assuming Castilo and Cotto both win their fights then finalize that they are fighting each other.
Re: Will Hatton REALLY give Collazo a rematch?
why wouldn't he give him a rematch? hes gonna beat him again, but this time more decisively. don't get me wrong i think hatton showed that hes not an A level fighter, and i think there are a guys that will learn from this fight and defeat him in the future, but i think hatton would take him down late stoppage in the rematch.

I honestly think Oscar will offer the September date to Hatton!! he is damned if he do and damned if he don't!!
would you have your career destroyed for 15mil? I probably would but I doubt Hatton will.
Re: Will Hatton REALLY give Collazo a rematch?
Like I said before, he should go back down to his natural weight. Showed a lot of heart but those punches were having an effect on him. Collazo is a natural 147. Yes he is a southpaw and that makes it harder but Hatton is not natural at that weight and thats really all there is to it.
Re: Will Hatton REALLY give Collazo a rematch?
There's no way Hatton is giving Collazo a rematch. Not because he doesn't want to, but because HBO has a lot riding on him and will advise him otherwise. HBO definitely wants a Hatton-Cotto or Hatton-Gatti PPV. His own "suits" will tell him that it's not smart businessly. Do I think Collazo should get a rematch? Hell yeah. If I were in Hatton's shoes would I give Collazo a rematch? Hell no. Technically, Hatton still won the fight by UD. Giving Collazo a rematch, means that he is agreeing that there was some doubt in the decision. Hatton should move on, he's got bigger fish to fry. He should work on his head movement and defense before he does get KTFO though.
