Definitely. This fight doesn't really do much for me. Castilliejo's smart and he's got some skills but he's old, past his prime, and he's been a junior middle pretty much his whole career, this is the first major fight he's had at 160, seems like a cash out retirement fight for him. Sturm needs to stay sharp though, I hope they find a way to make a Sturm-Abraham fight
Re: Sturm to fight Castilliejo
oh god why doesn't sturm step up from fighting these washed up leftovers. He has potential to be considered a top P4P fighter. I have developed more respect for taylor he fought the number 1 P4P fighter 2wice and is fighting the number 2 P4P fighter and he has the same number of fights and turned pro at same time as Sturm. is sturm lacking confidence, coz I Taylor offered him a fight and he turned it down. also arthur abraham wanted to fight him and he turned that down as well.

The Abraham offer was not extended. Both parties made a public statement that they wanted to develop the rivalry before throwing them in together.
Sturm refused the Taylor offer due to the location...you would too.
Re: Sturm to fight Castilliejo
As I said on another thread concerning the Castijello fight...nothing is a step backwards for Sturm unless he starts fighting prospects & the like.
You have to remember that Sturm is as green as Taylor is...you can't rush them along or otherwise you have a situation like you had with Vargas De la Hoya...or how about Mayorga De la Hoya...oh...bad example...Oscar got pretty much creamed by Sturm...I'm sorry...that was a bad example...but you get my point. ;D

you are a child, how does "Oscar getting creamed by Sturm" justify the fact that Sturm is fighting washed up bums. Taylor isn't green he just fought hopkins, who is one of the best middleweights ever and one of the best fighters of his era. Also how can Sturm be green if he creamed Oscar, I mean Oscar isn't that bad. Sturm picked up more momentum in his career after his disputed loss to oscar but now he chooses to fight handpicked fights that will pad his record.

From now on whenever I disagree with somebody I'm going to pull the "you are a child" line. ;D Its a good one, just has a nice mature feel to it
Like I said this fight doesn't do much for me, Castilliejo's past his prime and past his prime weight. But as long as its working towards something, a big fight, I don't have a problem. Its his first title defense, the difficulty level should go up from here. And I'm not a Sturm fan really, but as long as he picks it up pretty soon its fine. I think he'll be ready after this, or maybe one more fight. He fought for a long time in the amateurs so that, along with his pro experience, should be enough for him to turn it up pretty soon.

Ah well...a disagreance in opinion always ends up in name calling...oh well...child or not...your a douche bag if you don't think that Taylor & Sturm are still green to the game.
Amatuer careers be damned...this is a whole different ball game.
Taylor didn't convincingly win against Hopkins & Sturm's loss was questionable...but that being said...both of these two have lots to work on before they can be the world beaters that they just fought.
**Your'e not really a douche bag...it's just fun to use that one in retaliation.

yes taylor didn't beat hopkins convincingly but that has to do with hopkins being the best middleweight ever. no green fighter could beat hopkins. also you need to back your claim with some legitimate arguments. you lose credibility in your posts when you make statments such as "your a douche bag if you don't think that Taylor & Sturm are still green to the game".
