Re: Q and A: Louis Collazo
Good read CC....
its a tough one on collazo, he fought an excellent fight, and lost only ever so narrowly....maybe as former champ he does deserve a chance to avenge such a narrow loss. im undecided really. but the whole affair has definately left a cloud over hatton....
maybe he can address this in future fights, but he sure as heck doesnt look like going near collazo again.....
Re: Q and A: Louis Collazo
Anything else but a rematch is a travesty.....I think Collazo would handle his business quickly and Hatton is in for another beating.....If Hatton has the b*lls to fight him again!!
Re: Q and A: Louis Collazo
CC back Miles bro. I would have to agree,I think Hatton has to give him a rematch. My intial thoughts were not to give him one as Hatton does not plan on being around for too man more fights but when I read that he might fight Urkal,I was slightly disgusted! That would be a slap in the face of Collazo who gave Ricky a chance! Even fighting Gatti would be unjustified and it would prove nothing! I have changed my thinking on this situation!

if he fights urkal i will be pissed.....that just reeks of evasion....
gatti is a move more in favour of money fights, which i can at least understand....
does hatton really feel as invincible right now? if so move on....if not, then a rematch is needed to clear up doubt...
Re: Q and A: Louis Collazo
I just think a rematch is needed full stop. If he does not answer the questions, people will always question him! The JLC fight most likely won't happen so his options are minimised! Who do you want to see him fight?
Re: Q and A: Louis Collazo
first off i think the hatton camp is confused...their man couldnt do what was scripted....
it was MUCH harder than expected....
i think hatton beat collazo, but it was a very close fight and as he was champ then why not give him a rematch? because maybe it wouldnt go to plan again....
that makes me suspicious of the hatton team....would duran chicken from such a fight? get in there and prove it hatton!
like i say ive been negative in recent days. i dont see PBF coming off anymore. not unless hatton can redeem himself...
i worry his camp is simply protecting the L record and erasing thoughts that might risk the money...
maybe im just getting negative....
if so then beat collazo convincingly and move on....there is no law saying hatton must restrict himself to 2 money fights per year....
thats the talk of a careerist.... ;)
Re: Q and A: Louis Collazo
"Morally" speaking Hatton should rematch Collazo.
But he won't.
There will always be a question mark but hey lots of great fighters live with question marks. Just because some of us note the questions doesn't mean that they define the results.
PBF-Castillo for example.
Hatton's best business/career decision is to avoid Collazo rematch and move on. Probably down to 140. If he stays on to fight at 147 without a Collazo rematch then I lose a lot of respect for him.
Personally, I think a rematch is necessary in order to avoid damaging the fabric of the space/time continuum. It would introduce an anomoly which would endanger us all, were this question not properly answered.
But since when was a boxer concerned about doing the right thing for the sake of the inhabited universe?

a very einstonian post if there was ;)
PBF granted a rematch to castillo....the end justified the means....
hatton walking away completely leaves clouds evermore...
do we think collazo is gonna vanish and it never happened....it did and he wants a rematch...
why not beat collazo and then reamin down below 147, its bcoz there are doubts all through the camp...

Yeah, your right - I keep on remembering only their first fight. But PBF turned right around and fought Castillo his very next fight.
Good model for the Hitman, in either a moral or einsteinian (actually, I was thinking trekian) sense. But I think it would be a bad move for him. I think Collazo has more adjustability and would find a way to outpoint him or worse. Er, I mean, outpoint him or better.
I'd be pleased by a Collazo victory. Somehow Hatton's lost his lustre for me. He seems like a nice guy and all but the good words and attitude really need to be backed up somehow. Rematching Collazo would raise my respect for Hatton win or lose. Still I prefer a Collazo victory. I respect his style more than I do Hatton's, I guess is why.
