Re: Best Venues for fights
well over all Madison Square Garden is the world's most famous!
i personally sat in pretty pimp seats Staples Center( Vitali Klitschko vs Corrie Sanders) that place was pretty Fin HUGE and the crowd was banannas. if u seen Entourage season 1 they actually filmed an episode that night with the whole crew sitting ringside.
Mandalay Bay I was sitting ringside for RJJ vs Tarver 1 and thats a pretty pimp venue. Oh shiiit i hate to admit it but i also saw Holyfield vs Ruiz 2 here too hahahaha. I think Mandalay Bay is the current hot spot for vegas fights.
Thomas and Mack center I saw RJJ vs Ruiz here. the venue is pretty cool but you can tell its mostly geared to other type of events more so than boxing.
id love to see a fight in MGM just cuz my favorite color is GREEN!!!!
Ceasars Place would be pimp too just for all the nostalgia they got a big statue of Joe Louis in their lobby right across from PURE.

York Hall in Bethnal Green, England is the spiritual home of british boxing, and is such a great venue, I've been lucky enough to go there once and it has an unbelivable atmosphere. The MEN is aslo terrific, I saw 2 of my favourite boxers win their career defining fights there (Hatton and Calzaghe) and you guys got to see the cauldron like atmosphere, especially at Hatton vs Tszyu, just magic. :coolclick: Lyle, great thread and thanks for reminding me of the atmosphere.
I think you can only appreciate the atmosphere if your watching live on tv or are there in the flesh. One of my favourite boxing memories was as a 10 year old staying up till 5.30am with my dad watching Prince Naseem vs Kevin Kelley at MSG. WOW what a crowd and what an atmosphere. That left an indelible mark on me as I only watched boxing on tv when Bruno, Naz, Benn, Eubank or my dads friend Jimmy Neary was boxing, I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now and have done for the last 2/3 years, Ricky Hatton got me into boxing like I am now (I'm 18), made me pick up the gloves myself even, but nights like Naz vs Kelley, Bruno v Tyson, Naz vs Barrera (Very sad) and other great nights with british stars in GREAT venues that I watched as a kid made me the worldwide boxing fan I am now, where i can't get enough it. The venue adds to the occassion.
