HOW ABOUT HOPKINS - JONES ONE MORE TIME ?
HOW ABOUT HOPKINS - JONES ONE MORE TIME ?
Bernard Hopkins put on a boxing clinic the other night. He totally
outclassed Antonio Tarver to become the best light heavyweight in the world.
I picked Tarver. I had no doubt Antonio was going to win. I'll take a little
ketchup with my crow please... Thank you.
Man was I ever wrong ! Props to Bernard. He proved to me and many
others that he is an all time great. That was just a performance for the
ages.
Bernard said that was his last fight. If it is please hand him his
admission slip to the Boxing Hall Of Fame. First ballot...you bet !
BUT...If Bernard wants to have one more fight, there is only one
logical opponent. His name is Roy Jones Jr. Why ? It's called unfinished
business. Bernard has been calling Roy out for years. Now he is " The Man "
at Roy's weight of 175. If Roy wins his upcoming fight, why not have Jones -
Hopkins II ?
For Roy there ia a big revenge factor. If he beats Bernard he finally
proves his first win was no fluke. Second, in a round about way a win over
Bernard would slightly erase the losses Roy had to Tarver.
This would be a BIG $$$ draw. Bernard may want to consider this.
Re: HOW ABOUT HOPKINS - JONES ONE MORE TIME ?
I dont see the point....Hopkins would destroy Jones Jr and at the ripe old age of 41 too....
Sure it would make money, but it wouldnt prove anything because Jones is too far down the slide...
Hopkins should just retire....
Re: HOW ABOUT HOPKINS - JONES ONE MORE TIME ?
I don't ever want to watch Jones fight again. Hopkins vs Calzaghe would be the only fight I'd want to see B-hop fight, he makes huge sacrifices every time he fights as a 41 year old, if he had it in him to fight Calzaghe, I'd like to see that, otherwise, leave the legacy where it is, its perfect.

Well put my friend CC to you Miles,I agree 100%. Wouldn't do nothing for RJJ he is past his prime and B-HOP don't need to prove anything he is already HOFer and should just retire. Like a boxing fan and big B-HOP fan if he decide to come back and have one more last fight I would like to see JC vs B-HOP but again B-HOP just retire you are one of greatest fighters who accomplished everything, nothing to prove anymore we all your fans give you credit and respect you deserve.

I agree
Re: HOW ABOUT HOPKINS - JONES ONE MORE TIME ?
Total waste of money...but I said the same thing about Hopkins vs Tarver & look what happened.
I'd buy it! Unfortunately...I buy em all. ;D
Re: HOW ABOUT HOPKINS - JONES ONE MORE TIME ?
Styles make fights so I'd still pick Jones over Calzaghe

I just don't buy that ole cliche' that everyone is selling.
Fighters make the fights & there's a lot more to Calzaghe vs Hopkins than just styles.
Wills & skills make the fighters & the fighters make the fights. IWO...this fight would all boil down to determination...personally...Hopkins determination never ceases to amaze me...& I was surprised that Hopkins totally dominated Tarver...as much as I was with Calzaghe destroying Lacy...but the thing you have to look at is this...Hopkins has satisfied his place in history...
Joe Calzaghe has not.
Calzaghe would be the more determined now IWO...& therefore would most likely outfire Hopkins.

Re: HOW ABOUT HOPKINS - JONES ONE MORE TIME ?
this fight would make money for one reason...roy can trick us into thinking hes still got it...same reason why mike tyson can still draw crowds....with that said b-hop would whup him now but in roys prime u saw wut happens
