(winky vs. taylor) BLAME no one but BOB ARUM
enough of the arguments on who really won
although i honestly thought winky won by a unanimous decision
watching closely, taylor never hit winky by a SOLID and CLEAR shot...
he's just too strong thats why the reaction of winky's body fooled most of the audience...
winky simply dominated taylor, hes more accurate during exchanges, landing solid punches almost every round... if only winky had the power that taylor has, then it must have been over in round2..
but the scorecards' results once again, is another marketing/business tactics by top rank...
a split draw is always a controversial one...
nevada state boxing rules states that the judges decision shall be given to the ring announcer 45 seconds after the final bell..
didnt you notice how long it took for michael buffer to announce the scores?
and if the fight is not a fishy split draw, before he (michael buffer) announces the scores,
he always says whether its a split D or a majority D -
quoting buffer:
"ladies and gentlemen after 12 rounds of boxing we go to the scorecards,
we have - a split decision, judge blah-blah scores the bout...../
- unanimous decision all in favor of..."
bob arum knows this is such an EXCITING CLOSE FIGHT that a rematch shall easily be a hit...
if this is a boring fight then winky would have easily walk away by a UD....
taylor on the other hand, did enough for bob arum - if he didnt threw punches at the gloves of winky then this will be a blow out...
this is always true in a fight between a tactician and a puncher...
WINKY IS ROBBEd OF THE BELT by a maniac promoter
after the fight,
the anticipation and debates on who won is the prelude for the hype of the coming rematch...
BOB ARUM LOVES TRILOGIES
Re: (winky vs. taylor) BLAME no one but BOB ARUM
the second fight will be the fair, i supposed
Re: (winky vs. taylor) BLAME no one but BOB ARUM
Winky looked might swollen to never have been hit with a clear shot. I guess he was just off balance when it appeared he was rocked.
Re: (winky vs. taylor) BLAME no one but BOB ARUM
Do you copy and paste your posts from somewhere, or are you half blind?
:lickish:
There all out shape ;D
Im so happy Winky doesnt want a rematch so the promoters who most likely wanted it for the $$$$$ wont get it....

Dude,
You're an idiot! Bob Arum had nothing to do with the Winky Wright - Jermain Taylor fight. Winky was promoted by Gary Shaw and Jermain by Lou Dibella. Plus the fight was in Memphis, not Las Vegas!!!

i agree with the wiz and i was thinking the same thing. I don't think Bob Arum was the promoter, so how can you blame him ???

what does that mean, you scored the fight 3 times; all in favor of Winky.
