Morales Predicts Pacquiao Victory
Legendary Mexican Erik “El Terrible” Morales has predicted that Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao will win his July 2 Mano-A-Mano showdown with Oscar Larios at the Araneta Coliseum although he was hoping that Larios will win because he is a Mexican like himself.
in an interview with ABS-CBN reporter Dyan Castillejo in San Diego and released on the Manny Pacquiao website, Norales said Larios was “a good fighter and is fast” but he still believes Pacquiao will win. ABS-CBN is bankrolling the fight card staged by Manny Pacquiao Promotions to the tune of $4 million and has spared no effort in hyping the event.
Morales said that moving up from the super bantamweight limit of 122 pounds where Larios was twice world champion to 130 pounds was “a big adjustment” and that fighting at a heavier weight “will be a problem.”
Morales who engaged Pacquiao in two epic battles, winning the first by a unanimous decision in a bloody encounter and losing by a tenth round demolition in the rematch conceded that Pacquiao was “technically a better fighter” but claimed that Larios “has a chance if Pacquiao doesn’t prepare well.” Although he would have had a mere five weeks training by the time the fight takes place trainer Freddie Roach said Pacquiao is in great shape and will win by a knockout.
Roach was reported looking ahead at the third encounter with Morales set for sometime in November, even during training for the Larios fight and has indicated he wants Pacquiao at the Wild Card Gym two months before the third Morales fight.
Morales himself said he would be well prepared saying he was eager to fight Pqcquiao a third time. He said Pacquiao "enjoys his popularity now because he beat me but his popularity will go away because I will beat him so bad the next time. This I swear.” Morales indicated he is determined to regain his dominance in the super featherweight division and promised it would be a fight to remember.
In his interview which was translated from Spanish, Morales bragged that he would “clobber Pacquiao much easier than the first fight” which he won over 12 rounds. He said he was not afraid but that it was Pacquiao who was “scared of me.” Morales said “I’m so hard to fight. I punch extremely hard and dominate. The last fight Pacquiao was always backing up because he was afraid. I got stronger. Manny was hurt very badly everytime he was hit. He was hurting bad and I know that the next time coming more prepared, Pacquiao will be beaten.”
Morales claimed Pacquiao was “much weaker and slower” in the second fight and wasn’t in good shape but that he (Morales) was in worse shape, that’s why he lost. He said " I ran out of gas allowing Pqcquiao to take over and do what he wanted. I was just too tired. I trained hard but mentally I was bothered by some things.”
Strong words from Morales but you cannot dismiss a fighter like him or take him lightly. I am positive Morales will emerge victorious in their third encounter

CC,super read man!! I love EM but I'm not sure he can win a third time,he has been on a bit of a decline in his last few fihgts and I'd wsh he took some warm ups first before the 3rd Pacmna fight but I doubt he will. He sounds very determined though and that is good to hear but I just do not see how he will fit into 130pounds!! He will just be drained again! I agree with his analysis on the Pac Chololo fight,Oscar is dangerous but does he have the power to hurt Pac and will he carry the weight well?
Re: Morales Predicts Pacquiao Victory
sounds like morales is building up his confidents for the third fight with pac...but i think pac will stop em again...
Re: Morales Predicts Pacquiao Victory
I see no reason why Morales can't beat Pac. He's done it before
Re: Morales Predicts Pacquiao Victory
I think Morales fought smart on the first one. Pac would go after Morales like a bull against a Matador and Morales would just move to one side and jab jab. Morales took advantage of his reach and would just fight outside dominating the whole fight and not being in a risk at all. At the end, Morales came out clean while Pac's face showed the opposite. In the second fight Morales tried to exchange punches with Pac and that's how he started to get connected here and there and slowly get worn out.
Morales should fight outside and take advantage of his reach. When Pac charges move away and jab just like he did in his first fight.

yeah...I think so to....but you don't know how old morales's body is after all those wars....
Re: Morales Predicts Pacquiao Victory
Pacman is good, and although he holds victories over both, he will never be classed or remembered in the same breath as Moraleas or Barrera
Re: Morales Predicts Pacquiao Victory
I disagree, while not as sound a boxer he's definately a bigger attraction than both Morales and Barerra put together, and didn't just beat them he KO'd both :)
Although I see how you could think otherwise, but it better not be because you're a Mexican as well - that would be silly
Foooooooooooock abunch of national pride, they're all great :dance1:
Re: Morales Predicts Pacquiao Victory
Pac is a fighter who gains confidence through training, if he feels he's trained to his limit, no one can beat him that night. The second fight I had EM winning 4-1 for the first five rounds but as I review the fight Team Pacquiao had a clear plan. Go to the body and take out his legs, in doing so he got hit coming in, sacrificed a few rounds and stepped on the gas in the 6th. Also I think Manny let EM feel his power(wearing Reyes gloves) early with some clean shots to the head and continued to work on the body. EM was not throwing/advancing that much because he felt the power. EM also had a good arguement about his conditioning and if so I would like to see both guys get it on %100 prepared(Barrera also, hmm throw in JMM there too). But I still think a %100 Manny full of confidence and with Roach at his side, he would still have the advantage.

there will a Pacquiao rematch next year if Barrera survives Juarez with the help of the judges.
Pac will sent barrera to retirement if he will not be overtaken by Juarez

:coolclick: CC for standing up for Pac like that, First off EM and MAB are still two of the best p4p fighters today. Match them with any top contender super feather and they would win. You really must give credit where credit is due. Pac deserves his for working so hard to reach hi stature now and would work harder until he can so that no one can ever take that away from him.
Re: Morales Predicts Pacquiao Victory
Morales can win cuz hes done it before but he's havin a laugh with some of those statements
Pacquiao was the better man in the rematch . Better focus , better strategy , fitter , stronger , faster , more determinedetc it wasnt just Morales getting tired . Pac added body shots to his fight plan and if he does it in the decider I see no reason why it will be any different to fight two . Erik can be better now he knows what Pacs capable of but at this stage in his career I duno if hes got it left .
It my be Eriks last fight in the top class and I back Pac to win but greats are the ones who comeback . Me thinks Erik could be a great

not just yet! i respect both barrera and morales but pacman is on his way to the record books!
Re: Morales Predicts Pacquiao Victory
I don't think it is hating on Pacman,I like the guy alot but,and I am talking historically here, when we look in the record books,I think EM and MAB will be held in slightly higher esteem for their accompishments.Pacman, for the last 3 years, has been awesome awesome awesome but remember, compare his resume to EM and MAB and I think he is just a touch behind, not to say he cannot catch up,of course he can and this is just my opinion and no,I am neither Pinoy or Mexican!Completely neutral
