I like Taylor, but JT is the middleweight version of Zab Judah!!!
I was one of those people that had the fight scored a draw but thought Jermain looked better. I watched fight again and felt closer towards a draw. The one thing I can take from watching this fight again is that Jermain Taylor has the same or even more focus problems than Zab Judah. In the fourth round, JT was doing very well and pressing Winky with power shots. He came out in the middle rounds and laid on the ropes for no reason at all, he was getting blasted by Winky with like 5 hits combos in the corner and he stayed there. Later on, during the HBO interview, he didn't even have an explanation as to why he kept staying in the corner and getting hit. In the 11th and 12th round, he looked like he had abandoned training and his balance was absolutely horrible. And for some reason, he let Winky who is the much smaller man, bully him around the ring. I don't mean that he's like Zab Judah, meaning a stupid thug, who lacks class and morals. I mean he's like Judah meaning he's got all the tools to be a world champ, speed, power, chin, a great jab, everything, but for some reason, he loses focus and gets away from the gameplan for no apparent reason.

I agree that Taylor gasses in the championship rounds, but Zab's chin is in a league of it's own.

Oh yeah, I'm not even comparing Zab's chin to JT's. Zab chin is made of the most delicate and finest porcelain found anywhere in the world today.

I don't think Taylor was a gassed as Wright. I think he's just a young boxer and was having movement problems. He didn't wise up and start getting out of the way until the late rounds. Maybe that's when Winky didn't have energy to keep up the pressure.

Ok, good post... But you could have given it a better title, Zab Judah and Taylor are completely opposite in terms of class.. I just thought you were some Royal type or something, I actually didn't read it srry.

i think j.t stayed in the ropes to rest...winky punches didn't worry taylor at all...at the interview j.t actually said he stayed in the ropes to wait and counter winky with a right hand...and he did do that a couple of times to back winky off him...j.t has a great chin or winky just don't have enough power to hurt taylor even if winky threw combos at him...taylor just look like he didn't care if he was hit...as long as he hit winky with one...in a rematch manny stewart won't let taylor stay in the ropes though...i think taylor would beat winky easy staying in the middle...i can see winky doing anything different for the rematch but a young taylor would really come much better and smarter...

I can’t see any similarities with Judah and Taylor, ??? Judah is a thug in and out of the ring! Judah is inconstant in his training , looks ok one time looks like crap the next. Judah is a Southpaw. Judah is small Taylor is Tall?
