Floyd returns on November 4th but not against Dela Hoya but could be Hatton

Bummer, I was already planning the party for PBF/ODLH, oh well maybe next year....
Re: Floyd returns on November 4th but not against Dela Hoya but could be Hatton
1. I wonder if he'd really consider the winner of Moseley/Vargas if Vargas wins--the man is naturally about 50 lbs heavier than Floyd. Granted he's pretty shot, but that borders on being a circus event. Like to see Floyd v. Moseley though.
2. I'm somewhat surprised they're leaning towards Vegas, given that it's the one place Floyd doesn't get to have Uncle Roger in the corner.

Floyd would make Vargas look like a chump, so Vargas would be coming in the ring at over 190 lbs ???

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Now let's see Hatton-Mayweather. Hatton got really confident after he watched PBF-Judah, he started making all these comments. Now let's see both sides get the fight done. The only thing that could possibly make Hatton - Mayweather any bigger is one of them having the WBC belt and making this fight for the undisputed welterweight championship of the world. I have a feeling that Hatton will fight Cotto, Mayweather will fight Baldy if he wins, and god willing, they fight in Feb of next year for the 147 undisputed championship.

Don't follow you, mate. Is that a question? I don't know if Floyd would make Vargas look like a chump. Vargas is obviously far less skilled, but the guy's much, much bigger than Floyd. All I'm saying is that it would look like a circus event. And there are plenty of fights for Floyd out there that are compelling for boxing rather than just for side-show spectacle.

And then he fought the nearly unknown Luis Collazzo and lost/almost lost.

No i was being sarcastic, Vargas comes in at around 168 at 154, so that isnt exactly 50 lbs is it?? Also Mosley who is not as quick and his skills are no where near the levels of Floyds hung with Vargas and beat him up when he came in weighing 154 so i see no problem, it would be a total clinic, Mayweather far to skilled for Vargas at this stage.
Re: Floyd returns on November 4th but not against Dela Hoya but could be Hatton
Floyd and Mosley would be a better fight.
Re: Floyd returns on November 4th but not against Dela Hoya but could be Hatton
Interesting.
Well, Hatton's definitely out. If Ricky wants to really stamp his mark at 147 he'll opt for the Collazo fight - if not he's moving down, and out of Floyd's zone.
Cotto surely needs more time.
Any of the others would be interesting. I'd like to see how Floyd copes with a big strong welterweight in Margarito - with Floyd, as a fan, you want to see just how far he can go, how much can he push the boundaries. A Vargas fight would ask the same questions of him.
Ofcourse the glitziest fight is Sugar Shane. In Vegas.

Why isn't Oscar fighting again this year?
What a letdown
Re: Floyd returns on November 4th but not against Dela Hoya but could be Hatton
I think Oscar has been looking too much at Ray Leonards career.

Ok, but I was (I thought obviously) exaggerating with 50 lbs, plus I did refer to their "natural" weights--and I wouldn't be surprised if Vargas actually did walk around at nearly 50 lbs heavier than Floyd. Mosley is naturally bigger and stronger than Floyd too. I'm not saying Vargas would beat Floyd though, just that the size might cause problems--Floyd couldn't possibly hurt him (punches much less hard than Mosley), but the opposite is not true. The issue, as you imply, is whether Vargas would ever land anything. My guess is he'd throw some huge, wild shots, and miss, and otherwise just generally do a whole lot of pushing.

Floyd is fighting Oscar de la hoya on september 16th
