Middleweight in Good Shape!
Well, after seeing two of the top Middleweight fighters square off in a draw, we may have something to look forward to for the Middleweight Division. The rematch, and though Winky stated that he does not want the rematch, it would come naturally. I see both fighters taking care of the next bunch of fighters lined up to face them and maybe after 2 or 3 years, would go at it again for the Undisputed Middleweight Championship of The World. God I miss Bernard already!

I think it will be solid for years to come.....there are plenty of good matchups out there if the fighters/promoters are willing to make the fights...

Who do you got for both fighters? I'd like to see JT take on Abraham and Winky on Sturm. I also like two contender boys mix it up here. Manfredo and Mora.

Personally...I love Hopkins & Wright...& I really like Taylor...but the best thing for the middleweight division will be next year.
Taylor needs to take a non-title fight or warm up fight or whatever you want to call it against a lesser demon of the 160lb ranks.
Abraham & Sturm need to get through their matches & Wright needs to match with some other body.
Again...love Hopkins...but the best thing for 160 is him making way for new ground to be broken.
160lbs is going to come alive with faces like Sturm, Lorenzo, Gibbs, Abraham, Foreman, Duddy, Miranda, Pavlik, & more (not to be confused with Mora ::** :puke: )

Winky on Sturm was the first thought that came to my head Saturday night when Winky said he didn't want a rematch and that there were other fighters out there!! I would love to see Manfredo hand Mora his A** in another fight as well!!!! but that fight might be at 168....

I just hope that both will take care of their own until the fated rematch. Hope JT would improve drastically and Winky would not fade that easy(How old is he?). Also, what ever happened to Ikeke he was a giant among these Middleweights? Thanks Wacko :coolclick:

CC Bigragu, actually I was thinking that Mora and Manfredo would first join the party at 160. You know take on some ranked Middleweights, work their way up and set the stage for a third bout. Whoever comes on top I hope really makes it to the bigtime. Maybe at that time they can compete with the elite of the Middleweight division. What do you think? :coolclick:

:coolclick: right back babe.
I agree...Taylor does need improvement in many areas...he relies on his power way to much to fight a few of the other guys across the board...I honestly don't see that many other faces that could beat Taylor outside of Sturm. I'm a big fan of quite a few of the other names out there...Abraham included.
I think that Taylor could take out Miranda, Duddy, & Pavlik...although Pavlik is pretty slick from what limited amount I have seen of him...so I really shouldn't pass judgement on him. I honestly believe that Abraham would be a great fight...but I think that Taylor would beat him down the stretch.
Sturm is going to be the tuffy for him. Personally...I think that Wright beat Taylor & Wright's got one hell of a jab & a hell of a defense...Sturm running a close second. He's got a powerful jab & he rarely seems to tire...an issue that Taylor falters on.
The trouble that both Sturm & Taylor gave each other as am's...it'd be compelling to see them take it to the ring as pros now.
I'm curious to see who shows the most improvement.
Re: Middleweight in Good Shape!
Arthur Abraham KOed Kingsley Ikeke in 5 rounds.
Keep an eye on EU-Champ Amin Asikainen who recently went to Germany and KOed Sebastian Sylvester, who was EU-Champ at the time. Impressive.

Re: Middleweight in Good Shape!
Regarding Sturm, if I remember correctly Ledderman or Lampley stated that if Oscar was in his prime Sturm would be a fighter ODLH would easily brush off. Does this mean now that Hop is not in the picture ODHL can be a force in the middleweights?
Re: Middleweight in Good Shape!
So I'm guessing nobody believes in Sergio Mora? ;D

I am one of the members here who are hoping for the contender boys to make it big.
Re: Middleweight in Good Shape!
So do I but nobody seems to think Sergio is The real deal.
