Mayweather camp disses Margarito
Recent Media reports have Floyd Mayweather not only opting to pass up a ludicrous pay day of 8 million to face Antonio Margarito, but it has also been reported that Mayweather paid an additional $750k to get out of a contract with
Promoter Bob Arum. Arum was working on setting up Mayweather vs Margarito. So Basically one can come to the conclusion that Mayweather gave up a whopping $8.75 million not to face Margarito.
So why not Margarito? If he isn't a challenge... why should anyone give up $8.75 million not to take on an easy challenge and pick up an easy pay day?
On the subject that Mayweather is running scared from Margarito, Leonard Ellerbe, (Mayweather's chief advisor) tells Franklin McNeil of Star-Ledger: "I've heard that ... and obviously it's the most ridiculous comment that one can make. First and foremost, Floyd's been in about 16 world championship fights. Margarito, from last I checked, has four losses. He's never fought an elite fighter. I repeat, he's never fought an elite fighter.
Ellebre further added: "Floyd is the best fighter in the world. He's fought top-level competition throughout his career. He's never ducked or dodged anyone. And last I checked, Floyd's undefeated. But Margarito's a good fighter. He's not a bum. His name's in the hat, no higher than anybody else's. The fact that his name is in the mix should prove we're not ducking him."

Because Mitchell calling someone out is equivalent to Anne Wolfe calling out a champion in her weight category to fight... actually I would rather fight Mitchell.

As ridiculous as it sounded we all-know PBF aint scared of Margarito....... But did anyone notice that this guy still never said why they haven't took the fight ? I hate when people totally get around the question at hand is ignored and a bunch of filler is put into play

Obviously, whoever wrote this didn't know what the hell they were talking about. PBF didn't pay Arum 750K to get out of his contract because Arum was trying to get him to fight Tony. PBF wanted to fight ODLH and since Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions are at each other's throat, Arum would have provided a huge roadblock towards getting that huge payday. Floyd knew this so he gambled with $750K for a shot to make $20+ Mil. These guys need to get their facts straight.
