Marco Antonio Barrera - Sly, Nasty,Devious....????

In the ring that is.... ;D

If you didn't know I am a Barrera fan ;D and I have always noticed barrera when in the ring, has alot of gamesmanship, and is very sly.

Few examples, against Naz, he threw him into the turnbuckle, and when Naz went to touch gloves barrera ignored him. obviously against Naz its understandable because he is a....well I will leave it to your imagination.

The amount of times I have seen someone give him a little dig in the back of the head during a clinch, and he then gives a full blown punch into the backs of thier heads.

And against Junior Jones watch his corner run in throw stuff at Jones, Haha.

And I love it when they wind him up by taunting and then he hits them and starts taunting them back!

Its not a bad thing, because obviously you have to be in the right frame of mind, and dont forget this is a fight.

But out of the ring Barrera is a very respectful man, if not a little quiet, but very respectful.

Barrera is one of the worst for it though when he enters the ring :D

I mean he doesnt go biting folk or attacking refs, but he is partial to a low blow and a few dirty tricks.

If its got to be done...do it!! ;D

Other mentions, Hatton, Zab..... ;D

I agree m8 . Barrera is so admirable cuz he doesnt stand for any s**t off anyone .

Mckinney if you remember was shouting in Marcos direction at a conference and Barrera turned round and hit him in the mouth ;D

Then he dared Morales to taunt him , Morales obliged so Barrera hit him in the mouth too.

He really dished it out to Naseem too when he wrestled him to the floor , kneed him between the legs and then threw a punch whilst Nas was down

Against guys like Pedan and Tapia he was their mate so he just skooled em without being vicious . I hope when he fights Vasquez or Pac again we see the old Marco

I am more of a fan of Morales the MAB, but I have a lot of repect for MAB because of the great fighter that he is. It really is a pleasure to watch him in the ring when he is on, he can just destroy people.

his as bad a loser then anyone...remember hitting pac on a break and really trying to headbutt pac with his head...

but why is he loved for his dirty work...while others like zab get hated...zab was getting whoop too so he intentionally or not low blowed floyd...pac was most respectfull but he whoop mab badly and all mab could do was hit him on a break and headbutt him...he look like a fool that night...

What you think about what happened after the 3rd Morales fight? When Barrera and his corner go to shake Morales hands and Morales pretty much says "fuck you" and pushes them away. That shit was classic. One of the reason I like Morales, he sugarcoats nothing. Not in front of the cameras or off camera. If he don't like you, than he don't like you. And he don't care who knows it.

I like Morales, but I think its a good thing to shake your opponents hand after.

Especially after a fight like that.

Even Oscar went over and shook Mayorgas hand, and look how gracious Mayorga was.

Morales just coudlnt handle being the second Mexican at the time ;) ;D

He didn't look too nasty in his last fight. Barrera is a great fighter, but he is also a jerk. After gettin his ass whipped he picks on Paulie Ayala, beats the little guy down soundly then as he is goin down, sidesteps and rips one more to the body. I did like the turnbuckle incident, cus I hated Naz. But otherwise Barrera is a little A-hole. It's fun watching him get humbled.

I'm a big MAB fan(prefer EM though) and I agree,when he needs to be,he can e 1 nasty dude! Remember either the first or second press conference with EM tried to punch him in the face,MABchased him around the room!! However,I believe he has mellowed over time,as he has changed his fighting style to be less aggressive,he also seems to come acorss more gentlemanly now too. Class act,a legend,nice thread.CC Barerra.

that was fucking hilarious, they called each other all kinds of shit, EM antagonized the hell out of MAB . EM is a fucking animal when it comes to talking shit, he comes off as a cool guy, but he knows how to piss ppl off IMO.
