For me it was the 90's, ok i know their were people like bruno about but the top of the division included some all time greats, looking back then shows us how much of a mess the current weight class is in. 70's were great too but the 90's had more top class fighters rather than just the deadly trio that fought eachother over and over again until some one else emeged. The 50's rank 3rd IMO respectivly

For me it has to be the 70's, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Liston, Young, Lyle, Norton, Shavers all would beat your ass on their day

i think shavers is stronger but i dont think this fight would go past 4 rounds it would be who lands big punch first
Only reaching my 20s, I grew up on the hw's of the 90s, and it just emphasises the dreariness of the current crop we have. And in all honesty, there aren't too many young guns who are coming through quickly and without mercy the way that tyson did when he arrived on the scene.
If you look at Malik Scott, he's rated in the top 25 hw's by boxrec, but his last fight was a snoozefest where he happily demonstrated that he had no hunger, no ambition, and very little potential for improvement, yet he's got a record built on bums and that is where we're all falling down. They all feel they need to have 20+ and 0 to be considered, so they spend their early years going round and round picking easy wins instead of stepping in the ring, and actually get matched against a testing opponent that will help them improve.
Where is the "anytime but now" option in the voting, because that would get a lot of clicks at the moment.

im going to say the 80's with a young tyson beating up the world. he was a household name with in the first few years of his career.he he inspired thousands of people to try boxing. beond his personal life tyson was one of the greastest fighters to ever step in the ring
Tyson fought nobody, the best he fought was Spinks a blown up light-heavy. Tyson has the aguable the greatest crossover appeal, along with Ali... but one of the greatest fighters to step in the ring, I don't think so.

he fought everyone that was put in front of him and held title 7 years and had 20 title defences u cant really do better than that.
Those guys you mentioned don't really help your cause, the Norton fight was great... yes, Ali was only a shell, & I can't believe you put Witherspoon on the list. I thought Holmes was a great fighter, but put most any other champ in his era & they would have dominated too.
