Lewis McCall II Sympathy for McCall now?
Having just re-watched the Lewis McCall fight again and with the benefit of hindsite I feel a tinge of sympathy for McCall.
Apparently he was in need of a fix for weeks and Don King kept him caged up like an animal. he was fighting a man he had little chance of beating and even his original corner man was in the opposite corner.
I know people will say he was a disgrace and wasted his chance but he had a breakdown in the ring. Everybody, fans included were making him do something he didnt wanna do. That must be huge pressure.
At the time I was seething but as I say, with hindsite, I can feel a little sympathy for McCall.
You?

Re: Lewis McCall II Sympathy for McCall now?
bit of a sureal reply coming up but relevent so bear with it.i was in a bar in town a few weeks ago when a local"hardcase" was trying his best to get involved in a fight with a rivals younger brother.his rival was in the bar also and was telling his younger brother to ignore the snide comments being made, which he did untill the bully went up on the karioke and instead of singing spent 3 minuites taunting the younger brother.after this the older brother went up to his young sibling and told him in no uncertain terms to front up to his tormenter and sort it out.at this point the young brother actually started cyring with fear in front of the whole pub of what his brother was telling/forcing him to do. to cut the story short they did fight each other (with the young lad crying throughout) and the youngster won and shut the mouthy fellas mouth up big time.i did/do feel sorry for mccall but am also angry at him or his team for letting it all unfold in front of the eyes of the world and driving yet another nail into professional boxings coffin.sorry for the rant but my story was kinda relivant to the reply.

Boy did McCall had a chin on him!
Re: Lewis McCall II Sympathy for McCall now?
It was the thousands of people that shelled out some hard-earned money to attend the fight that should've left the ring in tears.
;)

he had a severe problem with crack cocaine. i had a freind who "knew" him. seems mccall got so bad he would let the local drug dealers use his car (ferrari or something) to drive and they would give him some crack.

I dont feel i drop of sympathy for him!!! :o
Thousands of people would have loved half the opportunities he had.
Just coz he was a smack head why should that make anyone feel sorry for him ??
Im sure no one forced the drugs in to him.
He was a victim of his own stupidity, simple as that >:mad
