In their previous fight, in 1999, Oleg Maskaev knocked Hasim Rahman completely out of the ring en route to a knockout victory. Because of their concern for Rahman's safety, Dennis Rappaport, with the Maskaev camp said yesterday that Maskaev is planning to petition the Nevada State Athletic Commission for extra padding on the arena floor around the ring to cushion the blow to Rahman's head when he is re-launched down and out

That safety thing is BS. Extra padding is very hard on the legs for some fighters, Maskaev might be hoping Rahman gets tired again

I'm dishing out $49.95 on what I believe will be a Rahman boring decision.

The Big O will most likely win the fight with a few points and then the judges will give the decision to Rahman. The judges will not let the last piece of the HW throne goes to Europe unless Maskaev KOes Rahman.

After watching how helpful the judges and the refs were to the home fighter in the Gatti-Baldomir, Spinks-Karmazin and Austin-Sultan I doubt Oleg will get a fair judging

In their first fight, Rahman was knocked COMPLETELY out of the ring next to Jim Lampley. Maskaev wants padding OUTSIDE the ring ;D

Rhaman will ko Maskaev....hell if Kirk jhonson did it....Rhaman should be able to burst him. Nonetheless, Rhaman can be a bad fighter sometimes (Hollyfield, Ruiz)...

I wish i'd thought of that, that is some proper PR advice right there. However, it does raise the question in my mind, to the forum histoirans, has anyone been hit so hard, or were so big that they have been knocked out of the ring, over the top rope?

Watching Williams on the ropes I've though they were going to snap like elastic, but never thought anyone could go over the top in boxing!
Any suggestions? ;)

Perhaps they should have trampolines running in front of the judges and commentators then Rahman could be bounced straight back in. ;D

I don't think it will happen...but it would be funny if Rahman was dumped onto the outside again... but I really don't like that they made this fight all about America instead of just boxing :-\
