Hopefully he has worked on his flaws and will show marked improvement in his return...
As I said alittle support wouldnt hurt especially after so many turned there backs on him..
Agreed. He deserves support & I am eager to see what he's gonna bring to the table.
Another perspective that you need to take into effect...Lacy took the defeat lying down. No one's heard shit out of him since the beating...maybe if he had broke some bread...there'd be a different spin on it.
Lacy should do fine though & there aren't as many peeps that have written him off as you would think.
There are still a lot of hopers out there.

It's tough to see beyond the Calzaghe fight. He will have to do something special to erase the memory of that fight. No shame in losing to Calzaghe, especially when he's on that sort of form, but it was the way he lost. It's just hard to see him becoming a P4P fighter now.
Having said that, every fighter is entitled to an off night.
Re: LACYMANIA...............
Lacy should take things slow. As great as Joe is, hes only gonna be around for 2 years more max really, and theres no reason Lacy couldnt become the dominant force in the division after that if he is brought back slowly and builds his confidence up.
Saying that, it was such a devastating loss, if his management shows him any adversity to soon, it would be a serious strain on his mental strength and could ruin his career.
But seriously once Joe's gone, if Lacy develops more of a defence and boxes a bit more, with that power whos gonna stop him?? Im not sold on Kessler at all, Froch is a similar banger with less power.
Good luck to the guy, Ill be rooting for him in his next fight (unless its against Frosch, then patriotism kicks in ;))
Re: LACYMANIA...............
...on boxscene.com it says Lacy might not fight until 2007!!!
That is ridiculous!!
Good news is that he wants to go right back to main events...I reckon it's ok but he needs to keep the ring rust off
Re: LACYMANIA...............
Along with Diego Coralles and Manny Pacquiao, oh and Manfredo there arnt' any fighters whose personality I like more than Jeff Lacy.
He's a genuinely nice guy and I think the majority of fans just want to see him do well. His loss to Calzaghe was a virtual replication of Coralles defeat at the hands of Mayweather, just a round by round brutal beating where the result was never in doubt from the first bell.
Pride kept both fighters going to the end, well in Coralles case until his corner through in the towel, but there was no way in hell he would have quit!
It's fighters like that who earn the respect of fans.
After the Calzaghe fight, few still regarded Lacy as a world beater, but I think for the majority of fair minded fans his appeal both as a fighter and as a man went up a notch.
Like Coralles he made no excuses and took his defeat like a man.
Hopefully he can get right back on track later this year.

Re: LACYMANIA...............
I am Big Lacy fan, and i dont understand the bit of ; fans turning their backs on him after his loss?' i was trying to hear something from him, looking on the net for interviews, buying all the magazines possible about boxing to see an interview. There isnt exactly a way to contact the man from where i am is there?!!
By the way i do think Lacy will come back and cause distruction in the division. the way he fights reminds of a henry armstrong or the young tyson. I also believe that the calzaghe fight was a wicked learning experience, He will learn the defensive side of being a pressure fighter and how to deal with that kinda fighter. i believe in that fight, he showed too much heart, going forward almost blindly, against a fighter like joe, thats just wont work!
I heard he is coming back on oct 7, hope he does and hope its against mr Green and HOPE lacy kicks ASS!
