LUIS COLLAZO BRINGS THE HEAT TO THE GARDEN

After losing his World Boxing Association Welterweight title to Englands Ricky the Hitman Hatton this past May, New Yorker Luis Collazo is back on his feet as he will be found boxing on October 7 in New York Citys Madison Square Garden for HBOs nationally-televised main event. As Collazo prepares to re-establish his name and talent to boxing fans across the country against his yet to be announced opponent, Hatton, unwilling to rematch Collazo, has given up his belt and title, dropping himself to the light welter category.
Collazo, described by many as the best-kept secret in American boxing, had lost to Hatton with much of the American and British press siding with the Puerto-Rican fighter. Intense, suspenseful and almost too-close-to-call, the 12-round boxing match led to talk of a rematch, publicized internationally by Collazo's agent, the widely-familiar
Ed Rosa. Hatton rejected any propositions.
The Don-King promoted Collazo, inching in at 59, weighing in at 147 lb. and reaching in at 72-inches, looks to prove himself an athlete with only one number in mind: 1.

Chatted it up with Collazo a bit and found out that the guy he is probably facing is Urkal for the WBA strap (if Hatton does drop it for sure) otherwise he says Quintana is a possibilty.

CC for the info,didn't he mention Margarito? DAM,I wanted to see that real bad! A Quintana fight would be good too but not sure about Urkal,he has some exposure,he should make the most of it!

I agree with you bro, Collazo should try to get in against the other big guys while he's a hot product. The Quintana fight would be a great move. But would have like to see him try for Margarito.

I think we agree in at least the top 6 threds here!! ;D Great minds think alike ;D I'm disspoointed that he did not mention Margarito knowing Tony needs a partner for December,however, Quintana would be agood match and the inner could face Ton next year or Urkal,get the belt,unify with Tony..Man,my brains buzzing from all these possibilites!! These pricks need to get their acts together and make these dam fights""

Seem to agree on most things, but please don't start with the unify thing, Baldomirs the welterweight champion, the rest are just contenders. But your right there are big fights that need to be made.

What do you mean? There's the wba title and Tony's WBO title too....I'm confused! And the title Floyd has,he should not have because Judah lost to Baldo therefore Baldo should have all those titles.

Glad to see Collazo back in the game.
He was one of the better kept secrets...atleast that performance was.

Bro I don't mean to offend you in anyway, but the belts don't mean shit to me. The Ring magazine championships are all I follow. The alphabet boys have done to much to ruin the sport. Your right Floyd shouldn't have his belt cause Judah lost it to Baldomir. With the Ring you can only win & lose your championship in the ring. The only other way the give up your title is to relinquish it if you move up in weight. But if a fighter chooses to defend championships at different weights he can.
