I'm sorry but technology is supposed to make life better. Every time I rent a DVD I can't get through the whole thing without it freezing or skipping and me having to take the fucker out and clean it...
It doesn't happen on my own DVD's so obviously people just don't look after the ones they rent and return them scratched, dirty etc.
This really pisses me off no end.
Now, I rarely had this problem with VHS so I'm putting this out there... Anyone else agree that DVD's are the antichrist??

But like you say, unless it's a new release forget about it. And a weekly movie, don't even go there...

Either get a player with a stronger lense, go to a proper video store or wait a bit to be films... the prices drop after they've been on the shelf for a while.
My mother is unstoppable... If she goes to the city center she'll come back with loads of stuff from HMV/Virgin... ;)
DVD's are great..., as long as you don't rent them from the video store. If you're gonna rent, rent a VHS.

And if they got the DVD's out they will be the exact copy of the ones on the net in tip top quality, not filmed by a noisy slovak on his video phone.
first step is a dvd burner, second step is to buy some blank dvds, third step is to create a netflix account, fourth step is to get dvd decryption/shrink programs and start taking it to the man!
just take itback, yes its a pain in the ass to go back, but they will definatly give you a new copy,
my fkn dvd recorder is wank never had the problem with my video recorder
plus my cd player in my car plays like fck all! never had no problem with my tape player
I feel like going 2 sleep & no one wake me till this shit has been sorted out!
