WNF Verno Phillips vs Teddy Reid IS ON!
ESPN 2 saved the best for last IMO. The last WNF of the season is tomorrow and it should be a barn burner. Both Verno Phillips and Teddy Reid are tough, seasoned, journeymen and contenders. Phillips is certainly the more skilled and accomplished guy but Reid hits like a freight train. I like both guys and I for one cannot wait for the fight. If I had to pick I'd say Phillips is gonna win this one, but Reid can seriously bang so its anyone's fight.

It should be a good one but Verno is hyped for this he wants to take one last shot at a belt before he goes away....I train both his sons in the amatuers so I talk to him on occasion and he says he is going to make it a repeat of the julian jackson fight and go all out early to establish some respect...he may not ko reid but will make him respect him early...Verno has a good Jaw he only has been KO once and that was almost 20 yrs ago

Solid fight, I'll be watching. I've gotten tired of Teddy Reid, hopefully Verno will school him.

Teddy Reid is finished, if he ever was anything... Candelo schooled him, and Phillips just beat up Candelo. I know styles and all, but Reid has very little of anything except power and isn't motivated.

Yeah, he didn't walk right through shit though. And Reid showed more tuffness and heart than anyone on this forum could ever muster. And he dropped Reid with a great body shot, ONCE and Only ONCE. It was a good fight and Verno was certainly winnin by a wide margin but it was competitive throughout and when he went against the ropes, Reid teed off on him best he could. After all Reid went through in this fight it was a BS stoppage IMO. There was only 1 min left to go and Reid coulda and shoulda gone the distance, but he wasn't gonna win. Dunno why there's so many Reid haters on here, but he fought his heart out tonight, Verno is just a better fighter.

Damn right he's a better fighter, but I haven't liked Reid since he hit Germaine Sanders when he was down on Friday night Fights a while back, & whats with this spitting out the mouth piece? Would have been all over in the 9th without that shit.

Reid is a warrior period. And if spittin out the mouthpiece is wrong then Chico Corrales don't wanna be right. Woulda been all over for him with Castillo too wouldn't it? Don't hate on Reid man. He fought his heart out. I like Phillips too, but I was rootin for Reid.

Your right it woulda been over for Corrales if he hadn't got the extra time. I don't like it when fighters try to take advantage. Never really liked Reid, he was a big mouth who couldn't back it up when it mattered most!

Reid aint been the same since he moved up to 154 to face Vernon Forrest and Forrest pulledo ut and he had to melt off all that weight to get to 147 to face Kermit Cintron. Reid aint been the same since. Just like Candelo aint been the same since Ouma ruined him.
