All the Benn clips are great ;D
yep very exciting i dont think ref should quite stopped it yet because throughout middle of the round barkley had benn on ropes and he hurt benn with left hook earlier in the round i think they should let barkley go one more round see if he had anything let to offer but oh well
Im pretty sure it was 3 knockdown rule ;) I think the referee half heartedly waving it off was him double checking that Barkley had been down 3 times.
Great war.
thought heard commentator said if he goes down one more its over because i think 1 st knockdown was standing 8 count
Yeah the three knockdown rule was in effect.
One of my favourite rounds ever ;D
yep classic round was it round of the year ??
Well if it wasn't I'd love to see what was
gutierrez vs franklin  that was round of the year 1989 never heard of them oh sorry just realised it took place in 1990 well 1990 round of the year was davis vs breland never heard of them either
You never heard of the Mark Breland? The "can't-miss kid" who did.Quote:

Breland was next Ray Leonard with a Tommy Hearns body. He was 6' and fought at Welterweight. Won Gold in the LA Olympics (84) and beat Harold Volbrect [sp] in 87, to win the vacant WBA title, that Honeyghan vacated, because he refused to fight a white South African.Quote:

He had a rematch with Starling (the most boring fight of the year) getting a draw.
He cameback to win the vacant WBA title that Starling's controversial conquerer Tomas Molinares lost...
He flattened (a with hindsight shot) Honeyghan in 1990 in probably his finest win, then lost to Superman Davis in a cracking fight (and big upset) later that year.
Breland never regained his world class form post Davis, and retired finally in 97 and became a trainer.
Domnick Guinn comes to mind as one of his (former) students.
ok thanks for that bk cc
Benn was a great fighter...this fight was classic!Quote:
