I was sceptical simply because at least from Tony,Arum was willing to cough up cash,who is doing it for the Baldi fight? If it makes $$$,it makes sense anyone.... :-\

What was the amount he was getting from Tony..$8mill right...and his next fight was SUPPOSED to get more than that...Guess not!

No,it's a legitimate question which I have posed to many a Floyd fan and not one has answered resoundingly-who would put $8million plus $2mill for Baldi plus extras? It also raises questions as to who Floyd will fight in Feb seeing as he does not think Spinks is worthy..Mosley?

You act as if Bob Arum is the only promoter on the planet. Floyd's last PPV against Judah sold more than his previous PPV against Gatti, which means he is a growing PPV commodity and only common sense says that that trend will continue. Any promoter with a brain would be willing give Floyd $8 million for the chance to secure ppv revenue.

Yeah but only if the fight was worth and if they thought thaey would make the money back...I don't see this being bigger than Zab PBF and Floyd got $5mill for that fight.....

I do see it as being bigger than Floyd-Judah. I hope you realize Judah had never even headlined a PPV before the Floyd fight (even his fight against Kostya was on Showtime), and like I said, Floyd's PPV numbers are a growing trend. Not that complicated.

welterweight championship of the world with the #1 p4p fighter challenging the ring #1 welterweight/champion would easily generate enough money to cover this

The thing is...Floyd is an HBO fighter...& it makes sense that HBO probably pads the bill a bit for Floyd. I don't believe that he see's Spinks as not being worth it overall...but in the big picture...he would have been a fool not to take this fight.
Sets up much bigger things for the future. Either Mosley or Oscar. I'd rather him fight Oscar...but Mosley has been doing a lot LOT LOT of talking.

not to mention that judah was fresh off a loss from baldomir (who was a complete unknown at the time) so that didnt help matters for ppv revenues. i remember there was some huge uproar about the mayweather judah fight being on ppv, being that it wasnt a credible title fight in the least

According to this article PBF will be making around 8m + PPV percentage and baldo 1.7m + PPV percentage. and TBH i don't take guyz like cunningham seriously. he's just a attention seeker and does not make sense most of the time.
