Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather, plans on making Carlos Baldomir Ugly

Talk about leading the lamb to slaughter. On November 4th , Carlos Baldomir (43 – 9 – 6,13KO’s), the welterweight divisions “own version” of the Cinderella man, will make an attempt to keep his newly earned title against the “pound for pound” best fighter in the world, Floyd Mayweather jr. (36 – 0, 24KO’s).

I want to give Baldomir a lot of credit for taking this fight because Mayweather is no Zab Judah or Arturo Gatti. That being said, he could fight another “Gatti” like fighter and hold his belt longer, so I salute him for wanting to fight the best.


If Floyd Mayweather Jr. was going to design a fighter to face in a title match, he himself could not have designed Baldomir any better to compliment his own skills. There are three very important fighter characteristics about Baldomir, which will enable Mayweather Jr. to easily defeat him. The first is speed. Floyd has it, and Baldomir does not and will never see it coming. The Second is height and reach. Having both gives the “faster” boxer the advantage. The third is style. Baldomir will stand in front of Mayweather and stalk forward. It is the best case scenario for Mayweather, who will pick him apart while he comes in. The best thing about a fighting a pressure fighter is you always know where his jaw is and that is usually right in front of you.

Nobody can look at the Carlos Baldomir story and not be touched by the incredible strides he has made in his career, which was seemingly all but dead 7 years ago, while he was selling mops on a street corner in Argentina.

He has accomplished a tremendous feat, and beat some pretty tough opponents, but let’s face reality here. He is going to face the most dynamic fighter of the past 20 years. Mayweather's technical proficiency is far above fighters in most other weight classes, let alone the welterweight division. Remember, James J.Braddock beat Max Baer, in an unbelievable comeback fight, but he lost to Joe Louis a few years later. That didn’t diminish Braddock’s story any less, and losing to Floyd Mayweather shouldn’t take anything away from Baldomir, except his world title.

I agree at least he'll still be standing when the last bell rings. But it's still gonna be a clinic.

Make Carlos Baldomir Ugly?  Does that mean he's a looker, right now?

This is a good matchup for Floyd its gonna be like like the Gatti match just a bit messier seeing Baldo is Slower than Gatti...

remember what Castillo did to Mayweather in their first fight. I think Baldomir can duplicate this. But of course he wouldn't get the decision.

Castillos a hell of a lot better fighter than Baldomir, no way Carlos can duplicate that proformance. Baldomir will be lucky to land a clean shot all night!

I just hope we dont see some panzy ref. preventing Baldomir from at least trying to push into PBF and pound the body as was preveneted in the Spinks/Karmazin fight
