so now that williams destroyed mitchell, (in impressive fashion) what excuse does margarito have for not fighting him?
Williams has now fought, and torn up a fighter thats 5 times the opponent that margarito has ever been in the ring with, let alone LOST TO ;D
not to mention, williams is #1 contender for his beloved WBO title, that margarito seems to think makes him the "champion," among the welterweights ::**
This fight is one that I would love to see happen...I think that Williams would lose though.

I must admit he didn't look like no kid. I actually like his style very agressive and and you can tell he has his mind made up to win when he steps in the ring.
Margarito vs. Williams would be a good match up they have VERY similar styles, agressive, lots of punching, accurate.
What a fight this would be.
The only thing that comes to mind is that Tonys never been hurt by a punch. Williams we've seen him take some punches well and tonight & against Mathysse we saw him rocked. ? ? But who knows I guess all we can do is hope for it to happen.
Margarito would Knock Williams out with in 6 rounds. Williams' defense is to weak. I remember in his fight before Mitchelle, he got stuned by opponent various times. Margarito is much stronger. I would rather watch Margarito and Baldomir.
I really like Williams,reminds me of Tony,ALOT and it would make for a great fight but not right now. He needs to take a few more fights,he is too green at the moment for Tony.

I said before this fight that this was the one to really make up my mind on Williams and for him just to steamroller Sharmba as he did. Well, im a new convert!! ;D

Having watched the fight,I am pretty covinced Tony would beat up on him. Tony showed that he can shorten his punches,and when he needs to,be more conservative with his punches V Cintron and I can see that happening here. I mean I know Tony can be open but Williams is WAYY to open and I also think Margarito's punches have more snap. Williams arms are too big to shorten his punches too much,and although it would be a war,I can see Tony winning.
Man,I so want to see Mayweather fight these big strong banging WW's!! Natural size become an issue at some point!!
Wonder how much Ol Max Kellerman was paid to tell the world "Williams is the greatest thing in boxing", "got the best of Margarito in sparring", Keeps calling out Margarito without response". Kellerman also claimed that the "Margarito team made a major mistake by not offering Baldomir more money cause now they have to face Paul Williams". However, Max failed to mention anything about the much more dangerous Clottey or Margarito's offer to the more skilled Quintana.
I guese somebody on the HBO team has to diss the butcher--the butcher of their fattened calves that is. I have full confidence that Margarito will knock wobbly Williams silly.
TOTally agree Maracho,CC. Tony offered to fight Quintana which I think he would have more chance of losing because Quintana is slick and Clottey is just rock hard fullstop.
A fight with Williams would be good for Margarito, he's win by KO but it would all be about the big picture. Put a Williams victory alongside a win over Clottey & the demolistion of Cintron & Tony's case for a fight with Floyd lor DLH ooks more appealing. Margarito needs to keep winning against this sort of competition to guarantee a shot at the big boys.
Very true,a win over those 3 powehouse natural WW's would look superb,they are big boys!! Well he's fighting Clottey next and word is,his next fight will be against Collazo or a mandatory withWilliams so things look good,he just needs to make sure,by hook or by crook,that he wins!Quote:
