Paul Williams...Did youe hear...

Did anyone catch some of the commentary on the Williams Mitchell fight....
When they talked about Williams size...I can't remember who made the comment (I know it wasnt Lewis) about his size and they said there has never been a welterweight this big who hit like him...Then they commented on his speed being another thing that made him even more special
Is Tommy Hearns some second rate fighter who for some reason wasn't worthy of remembering?.............Williams has a 1 inch reach advantage but no where near the Power of Hearns and not as fast as Tommy was....
Am I being biased or is this guy no Hearns other than height...Though I am impressed with his volume of punches

They were talking about his long arms, a unique freak they called him. Longer reach than Ali and Larry Holmes.

They said stated several times that he didn't have one punch power.

Maybe they said "there is no one in the division now his isze that hits like him".........i find it hard to believe that they would disrespect tommy like that.

They didn't disrespect Tommy at all, they were pointing merely to Williams unique physical build. He has freakily long arms, there is nobody like him in the sport with his height to arm length ratio for a welter.

They said several times that he was a volume puncher not a power puncher. They also said his defense was poor.

They wern't on his ballbags or anything.

Max was. As usual. Since the Matthissyfit fight, Max was sayin Williams was up there with PBF, Oscar, Margarito, Shane etc. already. He worships Paul Williams. It's absurd really.

THANK YOU!!!!! And they did say NEVER!!!!!! at this weight...........Max acted like all the other fighter out there were scared of him....especially in the post fight interview I thought Max was calling out Tony

Hell you act like Williams calling out Margarito is a bad thing! It would be great for Williams to fight Tony. I like Paul his uppercuts were doing great damage.

He reminds me of Hearns if for only 2 reasons 1) His size and 2) his left cross (although not as good it's still hi8s best punch)

Tommy was a better boxer and a far better puncher though but he made it all the way up to cruiser....I wonder if Williams can do that

This was the second time I watched him fight. What a scarecrow...

I like the guy, but seriously, he looks like Jack Skellington. He should call himself Paul "The Pumpkin King" Williams.

No not at all dont get me wrong....Hell you should call out the ones you can...I like a lot of things about the kid...The amount of punches he throws and his attitude about the sport....He is humble and respectful I also like the fact he said..."Well you have to take punches to recieve them" when they asked him about taking a shot from Mitchell...Plus the Kid didn't act like or state he was the best in the dixvision So he isn't a braggart he just wants to fight who he can and make a name for himself W L or draw......My statement was more based on the announcers who covered the bout...They are kiss ass suck up's who if Williams would have lost praised Mitchell like he was resurrected....The hell with them Just be unbiased and call it the way it is...Williams is saying he just wants to fight the best he can and Kellerman is praising him like the next Ray Robinson....The guys on HBO have a habit of doing things like that......Forgetting about everyone else and Kissing ass to who ever is in the ring.....

Williams learns how to use a jab he would be untouchable. But as easily as Mitchell got inside on him and hit him, he isn't ready for the big time. He needs to elarn to use his size.

Getting Manny Stewart to train him would be best.
