Just watched Hagler v Leonard for 1st time in 19 years - my card
OK so I watched this when it was shown in 1987, but have never wacthed it since - Cheers the Game for the link
Watched it totally objectively here is how I had it
Leonard 10 ROUND1 Hagler 9
Leonard 10 ROUND2 Hagler 9
Leonard 10 ROUND3 Hagler 9
Leonard 10 ROUND4 Hagler 9
Hagler 10 ROUND5 Leonard 9
Leonard 10 ROUND6 Hagler 9
Hagler 10 ROUND7 Leonard 9
Hagler 10 ROUND8 Leonard 9
Hagler 10 ROUND9 Leonard 9
EVEN 10 ROUND10 EVEN 10
Leonard 10 ROUND11 Hagler 9
Hagler 10 ROUND12 Leonard 9
Leonard 115- 114 Hagler
Could've quite easily gone to Hagler or been a draw - can't see how so many people think Hagler was robbed though, it was asclose as you can get imo. One judge had it 10 rounds to 2 to Leonard :o
Round 9 has now gone on my list of Geat all time rounds too
What's everybodies take on the fight ( I know we have done this so many times, but ti never get tired for me)
Re: Just watched Hagler v Leonard for 1st time in 19 years - my card
funnily enough, on my card if Hagler won the last round it would of been a draw..
I had it 115-113 for Leonard, but i can definetly relate to you on the scoring though..
Leonard wasn't robbed, it was a fair decision imo

Leonard was brillant especially after been out for so long. I also scored it 115-113 Leonard.

yea i think leonard won by round or 2 but really and truthfully hagler gave away first 4 rounds and thats what cost him and hagler wasnt robbed at all

yea good point leonard hadnt fought since 1984 no one gave him chance against hagler but he won and was good performance by him
Re: Just watched Hagler v Leonard for 1st time in 19 years - my card
I expected most people to say Hagler won - glad you all saw it how I did
If it went 15 he would have though ;)
Re: Just watched Hagler v Leonard for 1st time in 19 years - my card
yep maybe big h but leonard already won fight before stepping in the ring with how many rounds the fight would go and how large the ring would be  ;)
Re: Just watched Hagler v Leonard for 1st time in 19 years - my card
Hagler would have stopped Ray over 15. Leonard was running on empty at the end there. Halger should have thrown his shot instead of just shaking it around, he may have got the KO or knockdown that he needed to win.
Re: Just watched Hagler v Leonard for 1st time in 19 years - my card
Dunno what you guys are talking about. Hagler WAS robbed. And the fight sucked. It was boring really. Dramatic with two legends in there and the high stakes, but boring. Leonard just ran all night, and threw pitter patt crap every once in a while, and Hagler stalked him but didn't let his hands go a whole lot either. Leonard survived and stole a few rounds, 4 or 5 at most. But most definately not enuff to take a great champion's title away. He did no damage to Hagler at all. Nor did he try to.

How did you score it when you watched it years ago. Did you have it set in your mind that Hagler won?

Me? I've seen it least twice on ESPN Classic. And I remember scoring it for Hagler by bout 8-4. Last time I watched it was roughly 2 years ago. It's boring and it really don't interest me that much to watch it.
Re: Just watched Hagler v Leonard for 1st time in 19 years - my card
Surely you gave the first 4 rounds to Leonard ??
Def weren't boring imo

Oh ok I know I'm :spam: the forums here but I love to go over this one more time.
If Hagler lost the fight because he gave away the first 4 rounds then how does anyone justify Hopkins beating Taylor in their first fight when he clearly lost 7 of the first 8? :P

I agree Hopkins did lose atleast 6 of the first 8 - even if Taylor wasn't doing much either, ould easily see that fight as a draw, but prob just gave edge to Taylor, even with Hopkins winning thelast 4
