Mike Tyson Against Angelo Dundee: Who Was Better at What They Did?

Dundee trained James Tillis. Even though he lost to Tyson, he was the first man to take Mike the distance, a prime killing machine Tyson, which is a pretty impressive accomplishment. On the flip side, Dundee also trained Trevor Berbick, who Tyson walked through in two rounds. My question is this, was Tyson a better boxer than Dundee was a trainer or vice versa?

Never know but Dundee's success was also that his fighters had the talent to do what he set them out to do, but neither Tillis nor Berbick had the talent to do it.

Good point. Ali and Leonard were talented enough to probably capture titles without Dundee, but still, I think leading a fighter to go the distance with a prime Tyson, especially one who wasn't supremely talented, is a major accomplishment.

I could be wrong, but i think he also trained Pinklon Thomas.

I believe Angelo Dundee trained Larry Holmes for the Tyson fight too, but Holmes wasn't in his prime and Berbick, Tillis, and Thomas were not on Tyson's level so a trainer can only do so much.  Unless the fighters skill level is close, the better fighter usually wins, doesn't matter which trainer.
