Peter Manfredo VS Joey Spina
Ok,
Here it is, no more trash talkin, no more repeating the same comments over and over and over.
During the mora fight, peter said its on, Him and spina in October.
So i immediately went to confirm.
And this is what im hearing.
Oct 28
it may be a regional ppv fight.
Peter Manfredo Jr VS Joey Spina
seeing as though they are both from my state, and i have followed both careers (along with many other locals) May the best man win.
All sh!t talkin aside, this is a big fight for both.
Re: Peter Manfredo VS Joey Spina
It's funny how just a few days ago Peter said both HBO and SHOWTIME refused this fight as it would be a huge mismatch, yet yesterday he's promoting it as a huge fight whilst being interviewed during the Mora fight.
Manfredo will win easily, bum doesn't even come close as a description of Spina.
Bum is way too high an estimation of Spina , I'd say he's the sole of a foot. :P
Re: Peter Manfredo VS Joey Spina
Spina is crude but power is the equilizer. I would think Manfredo will stay on the outside and box him all night. The only trouble could come late in the fight, if Manfredo has taken a lot of body shots then it might get interesting.

WOW!! have you gotten bitter as of late......none of the big names ..Kessler, Joe C are available for Manfredo at this time......So who does Manfredo fight......why does Spina fall so far down your list?

lol, I've always been bitter Bigaru!
Anyways I'm not criticising Manfredo for taking the fight, it's a great fight and will pack out the Dunkin Donoughts centre in Providence where they are both huge rivals.
No my point was that just last week Manfredo was saying no television company wanted to promote this fight because they knew Manfredo would kick Spina's ass.
Now it's happening and Manfredo is saying it's a huge fight for him.
I'm not having a got at Spina but Manfredo for talking shat as usal.
But Spina is a bum though :P
Re: Peter Manfredo VS Joey Spina
I've seen Spina fight a few times on local TV. He was lucky to pull a draw against Spearman, if I recall correctly. Unless Spina gets a lucky punch in, Manfredo should outpoint him easily. This fight might not make sense to people outside of New England, but Spina is Manfredo's local rival and I can't blame him for wanting to spank Spina and shut his mouth.
Re: Peter Manfredo VS Joey Spina
and vice versa, believe me

I'm not that impressed by Manfredo either. Stopping a shot Scott Pemberton doesn't really make a statement. He lost to a healthy and sick Sergio Mora twice, he barely gets by Espino and Gomez. I'm not impressed by either, Spina does have that equilizer in power and apparently he's improved from the Brinkley fight. I hope so because with his given talents he shouldn't be smothering inside. Manfredo just has to outbox him to win
Re: Peter Manfredo VS Joey Spina
WHAT A FIGHT FOR RI.......... FIRST TIME HBO HAS BEEN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK THE F'IN LORD............ MANFREDO BY UD..... Spina cant box. The power is, yes, the great equilizer. But you got to hit em...... F*** Spina... He's had a good run and he's fun to watch but ..........................F***in Freddie Roach.....Nuff said.......

Re: Peter Manfredo VS Joey Spina
you blame him or them.... you can lead a horse to water..................... your point?
Re: Peter Manfredo VS Joey Spina
I fancy Manfredo to decision Spina.
Re: Peter Manfredo VS Joey Spina
I think Manfredo will win, his problem as I see it though is he's not an intelligent, reactive fighter. Manfredo I'm talking about here.
Consider his fights. First fight with Alfonso, he wasn't expecting Gomez to be so tough, couldnt react quick enough in the 5 round fight to turn it around. He did learn from his mistake however and beat him second time around.
Against Mora in the first fight his gameplan beforehand was clearly to pressure and smother Mora, close him down and work on the inside. However it didn't work for him but round after round he stuck with it, pressuring forward but doing F*** all.
In the rematch with Mora, the work with Freddie Roach had obviously helped him and he started brilliantly, taking the first 3 rounds and dominating. But Sergio, although badly cut and shaken managed to keep his senses and had Manfredo figured out by about round 6. Again Manfredo was unable to respond accordingly and Sergio won by the closest of margins.
This I think is Peter's biggest problem. He's a good fighter and works his gameplan for a fight, but if the situation changes and he needs to change tactics he seems stumped.
Working with Roach might help him overcome this but I just can't see him beating any world class fighters, they would work him out and outbox him and he wouldn't be able to change what he was doing, so just end up losing by wide decisions.
I don't think this will matter against Spina who from what I've seen of him has less talent than a Sheffield Dogging Festival :P
