THE BEST POUND FOR POUND! IS IT EVEN CLOSE?
THE BEST POUND FOR POUND! IS IT EVEN CLOSE?

LOOKING AT PACQUIAO & MAYWEATHER AS CARS
Los Angeles, CA-In some sects, especially with Latinos and Blacks, they don’t have hot rods. Quite the contrary as the “low rider” is more of a show car that is cruised at low speeds. While in a race I obviously want the supped up roadster instead of the slow crawler. In the world of professional boxing, Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather is the low rider, while the octane king is none other than Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.
THE LOW RIDER VS. THE INDY 500 CAR
Mayweather looks good, sounds good, rides smooth, and is thus far is unscratched. On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao is the car that that has came in second on a number of occasions at the track. Manny has beaten Indianapolis 500 type fighters, while Floyd has for the most part outpaced pace cars. The big difference between Pacquiao and Mayweather is their class/level of opposition. Based on that alone, there’s no comparing the two!
CAN YOU HONESTLY COMPARE THE FOLLOWING?
Looking at the last ten fights of both men, we have Floyd facing Zab Judah, Sharmba Mitchell, DeMarcus Corley, Arturo Gatti, Phillip N’Dou, Henry Bruseles, Victoriano Sosa, Jesus Chavez, and Jose Luis Castillo twice. OK, compare “Pretty Boy Floyd’s” murderers row with the last dime to face Manny Pacquiao. Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym, Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov, Emanuel Lucero, Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, 3-K Battery, Hector Velazquez, Erik Morales, Erik Morales, and Oscar Larios.
IT’S NOT ABOUT LOOKS, MORE LIKE WHO YOU BEAT!
What you notice is that while they’ve both faced world-class fighters, Floyd, with the exception of Castillo, and he was lucky to win the first time, hasn’t fought guys while they were at, or even near the top of their game. Zab was coming off a decisive loss, Sharmba was leftover lunchmeat when they met, Gatti was toasted prior, and the other men Floyd has engaged, they’re not even worth mentioning again. Pacquiao’s knockout wins over Hall of Fame “cinches” Barrera and Morales, and his draw with Marquez, these are significant outings befitting a fighter dubbed, the “best pound for pound” in the world.
BOTH PACQUIAO & MAYWEATHER ARE FAVORED
Floyd will fight the World welterweight champion, and there’s only one, Carlos Baldomir of Argentina on November 4. Manny will chew on what is left of Erik Morales after they do everything but shrink his head to get him down to 130 lbs. Who knows, Floyd Mayweather may go on and retire undefeated, or he might crash and burn. The same can be said of the Pacman. Regardless, when judging the opposition Floyd doesn’t come close to the fiery Filipino if you’re talking “p4p” today, September 1, 2006.

What do you say guys, who should be up there. How can one dethrone the current P4P#1 without being defeated. RJJ was dethroned by B-hop when he lost same case with him when he lost to JT. So what about this case, if Pac wins over EM this November is he arguably P4P#1
Your thoughts?
Re: THE BEST POUND FOR POUND! IS IT EVEN CLOSE?
Indeed he is my P4P,as much as I hate to admit because Manny KO'ed one of my fave fighters ever,EM! Excellent read CC,and there are some places that have Manny at the top,I mean Erik Morales alone is a bigger and more importantly better name than anyone Floyd has fought! And those guys Pacquioa faced in the lower divisions may not be names, but a name does not does not decide whether they are good or not, they were champs and tough opponents.
Re: THE BEST POUND FOR POUND! IS IT EVEN CLOSE?
Is it close? Well no, MAB is undisputed #1; but I think Winky, 'Lil' Floyd and Taylor are up there challenging ;)
Re: THE BEST POUND FOR POUND! IS IT EVEN CLOSE?
CC back El Gamo, his victories/achievements the past 3 years were very stellar 3 were on the top 10 P4P, Barrera at 2003 maybe #3 or #4, Erik not too far maybe #5. JMM who has salvaged a draw despite being down thrice in the first round was a legit top ten P4P. Right now he's also my #1
Re: THE BEST POUND FOR POUND! IS IT EVEN CLOSE?
Yeah,I mean talent wise,Floyd is better than Manny but Manny's been fighting and beating legends all over the place!Heck, his tune up was Larios, that's more dangerous and more of a threat than anyone Floyd has faced for a long time!

Totally disagree,MAB is a legend and one of my favourites and he has faced awesome competition and will be back in contention once he beats someone of the quality of Pacman etc. He was meant to beat the tough but limited Juarez easily and before that he fought Peden, and a few other decent but not dangerous guys! He's certainly top 3/4 but not number 1.Why do you have him as number 1 BK?
