Throughout the entire fight Augustus was winning but the ref was taking points from him by every second of the fight. Without the point deductions Augustus was winning that fight but with so many he wasn't going to... anyway on to the end which the vid shows.
There was 5 seconds left in the fight and the guy he was fighting threw a combination and Augustus fell off balance.. And the bell rung, Augustus stayed down and got up slow, not because he was "diving" but because he thought the fight was over(bell rung). The actuality of it was that he got up and he lost the decision, they changed it to a KO because they said he was down for more then 10 seconds and that you couldn't be saved by the bell under the rules.
So there you have it, Augustus didn't take a "dive" so leave it.
A "dive" means he threw the fight for money, which Augustus didn't ::**

oh so he tripped up and thought hey its the end of the fight i think i'll just take a nap here....
you'd have thought the ref counting him out after the bell would have gave him a clue ((see the shadow on the canvas of the ref doing just that)) hahahahaha you really are a blind fan somtimes starr.... in the nicest possible way ;)

they didnt go to the scorecards. he got up at 10, the ref waived it off, and it was a 12th round KO.

I'm about 99 percent sure they went to the scorecards and he lost a decision which was changed to a KO because they said the ref counted him out after the bell and you couldn't be saved by the bell ;)
Either way it wasn't a "dive" perhaps your right and I'm thinking of another fight. Even so, there was no "dive"

Either way it's a shitty way to fight
These guys are "Prize" fighters, people PAY their money to watch them and if I ever paid to see a fight and something like that happened I would have a go at the fighter that did it...Starr, it's all fine and well if you're a fan of Augustus but don't expect me to condone that shit.
With Duran, his "no mas" came after getting his ass completely whupped by Ray Leonard...he was getting outboxed, and power punched and he was looking like a fool.
But either way it's a bad way to go out

A "dive" means losing he fight on purpose and getting payed prior to do so ;) Augustus didnt and wasn't. And why would someone take a dive with 3 seconds left?

Off balance?  Come on?  The guys reacting to punches that are not even landing.  Augustus was no rookie during that fight.  He's fought enough times to know that the bell can't save a fighter if he's down.  How could he think the fight was over, when he's on his back watching the referee count him out?  Augustus is a constant whiner and complainer about how he's always getting robbed and screwed by the ref's.  He has no problem naming fights he think were unfair to him and he was done wrong.  The Ward fight.  Dorin.  Burton (I give him that one) and so.  For some reason the Allen Vester fight is never mentioned.

Gonna have to agree Starr as you said in just another thread that he took a dive to escape getting a decision taken from him. The ref was counting, he would know to get up. Again....Augustus fan but for whatever reason...he took a dive. Circumstances in his life may have called for it, or maybe he really did just do it to escape the scorecards but....it really does look like a dive.

Agreed. Though he won the Ward fight imo even though it was a great fight, Augustus won it imo.

What I watched was that Augustus was winning rounds and the ref would take a point. You've seen the fight you know the circumstances. I JUST saw the entire fight. Before I had just seen that round and the round prior. Now having seen the whole fight I seen that this fight was worse then the Burton one. Watch the fight.
