Two boxers with a genuine disdain for each other will duke it out with bad intentions for a third time when Diego “Chico” Corrales defends his World Boxing Council (WBC) and RING lightweight titles against former world champion and longtime adversary, southpaw Joel “El Cepillo” Casamayor, on Saturday, Oct. 7, during a Free Preview Weekend on SHOWTIME.

The Free Preview Weekend that runs Friday, Oct. 6 through Monday, Oct. 9. On Oct. 6, “ShoBox: The New Generation” will air two semi-final bouts as the super middleweight tournament continues live at 11 p.m. ET/PT on
SHOWTIME (delayed on the west coast).

JOEL CASAMAYOR (33-3-1, 21 KOs)

“Corrales’ time is up. He is (expletive withheld). He has given me a lot of (same expletive withheld). He has given me no respect. He needs to be more of a man. He is talking a lot because he is scared. On October 7, I will prove that he is nothing.”

IMO, Casamayor has fallen off a bit since the first two times these guys clashed and Corrales has gotten better. But Casamayor gave Corrales absolute hell in both fights and a lot of people think he won both fights. I think they're 1-1 and can't wait for the rubber match.

I agree Casamoyer looks kinda shot these days with a couple squeaker wins against some C- to B opposition and Chico is the best at Light weight....

Then again its all about the matchups and if history repeats itself then were in for a classic to finish up this trilogy ;)

Well I've always liked Coralles and calling him a joke winds me up.

Hopefully when they get it on, Diego knocks him the fuck out.

I'm a big big fan of Diego and I think he will win this and re enter P4P lists. I think he won the second and although I can see how it could have been a draw,no way did Joel win(I really like Joel too but not as much as Diego),he started offf way to late in the fight and lost ALOT of the opneing rounds,if not all and clawed back towards the end. I wnt Diego to win and move up.

As for Cas,I feel for him,he has had close fights with Freitas,Corrales and Castillo and almost always came out a loser. He is very very slick and skilled which is why I cannot rule him out but judging by your opinions,he seems shot! He needs to be at this best,if he is not,Diego will KTFO Cas.

Casita makes me laugh. I just laugh out loud when I hear some of the crap he says. I am not a fan of either one but I think this should make for a good fight.

But you proably say Corrales has gotten better based on the Freitas or Castillo fights.. remember, Diego is coming off a brutal KO loss a year ago, and hasn't fought since.. Who's to say Castillo didn't ruin him. I'm picking Casamayor to win the rubber match, I do think Corrales edged it the second time but I don't know if he still can. Like you say, Casamayor didn't look as good as he has either in his last fight, based even on that performance though I call this a pickem.. I guess I really suspect Chico is more damaged goods.

Casamayor won both fights but he is done right now Corrales will take this one easily.

If he was partly shot he has had a year recovery, and Casamayor who has been past it has been active and fighting, I think it's a disaddvantage. It doesn't matter who's less shot to me, but that Casamayor is shot to the poitn he can't use the things he needs to beat Corrales then Corrales would have to be shot for the things he needs against Casamayor.

i just pray to god that corrales didnt totally lose his chin in the last fight with castillo and gets stopped early. that would suck! but he stopped casamayor early (and hopefully brutally) that i wouldnt mind too much ;D
