What a tragic end, he had Benn in trouble so many times in that fight.

Its been posted before, but i am appreciating his skills in the ring which were awesome. Ot the ring he was no saint, but he never deserved to live the rest of his life like the way he does.

I get tired of hearing what prik Mcclellan was outside the ring and he deserves the state he's in and BLAH, BLAH.....

Lets see Ali was a womanizer and Cheated on a few of his wives and was a racist to his own people and took cheap shots at any body and everybody not to mention was a draft dodger...

B-Hop was a convicted felon and was incarcirated..

These are 2 of the most celebrated Boxers of our Era and they have had checkered pasts..Does that mean that they should have a wheelchair next to Gerald Mcclellan...Doubt it ::** cut the guy a break..The punishment didnt fit the crime..

Nicely put, i agree i am a boxing fan, i watch what he does in the ring,and it was awesome.

What is truly tragic about the Mcclellan/Benn fight is that if the referee did his job properly Gerrald wouldn't be in the condition he is in today. That fight should have been stopped early when Benn was sprawled outside of the ring. A horrible long count. I give credit for Benn to come back and win...but he got an enormous lucky brake. None of this is to say i liked Gerrald's character outside of the ring...from what I have read he was a nasty guy...but the outcome of that fight (and ultimately Gerrald's life) was tainted by an incompetent referee.

Thanks...A good majority of athletes do alot of questionable thing when they arent competing....

I look at it this way..Lets take my 2 examples Ali, Hopkins.

Ali is looked up to now and is a good ambassador...Only after Maturing and softening himself..

Hopkins- He served his time and payed his debt to society..He grew up and realized that it was a counter productive lifestyle..

Gerald was Incapacitated at a fairly young age and never had a chance to rehabilitate his erroneous ways and realize he was doing wrong(Allegedly)
